They say take only pictures and leave only footprints – Well, we left 8 sleeping bags, 2 Trailmaster tents, a Coleman stove, $400 worth of groceries, a Land Rover, a Rolex and every stitch of clothing my wife ever owned.
(Oh yeah, had to take it all with us, mink coat, makeup, electric curling iron, “You never know what you might need”, she said)
I don’t know. On a family vacation it took us 2 days realize that my teenage brother had packed no clean underwear or socks, only two shirts, and one pair of pants for a 2 week camping trip. No access to laundry unless he wanted to go wash them in the nearby river without soap. Which I doubt would help. Also, zero personal hygiene products beyond deodorant (but 3 sticks of it for some reason). For the sake of his tent-mates’ sanity, yes way more than that is necessary
Yeah, guys suck at packing. Before you start on me, I’m a girl and fit everything I needed into a single suitcase (<20 pounds all together).
I’ve witnessed my father, boyfriend, and best friend from high school pack. It’s the same situation, though to a lesser extreme. I base this on observation of all the males I’m close to, this was just a particularly horrific incident.
This stupid bitch I went on vacations with packed the car with a suitcase and a bigass trolley which completely filled the entire trunk of the car. Me and the two other guys who were sitting behind had to carry our bags with us on the back seats, the entire duration of the trip while she would be sitting comfortably ridding shotgun next to her brother who was driving.
Why are so many guys butt-hurt by this graph ?
More than half of these post are “Nuh-huh !! Guys only pack what they need, this graph is incorrect !!QQ!11one!!”
Guys pack a toothbrush extra pair of clothes and what ever we need for were we are going.
The whole guys’ graph should be inside the girls’ need circle, and really small.
The “what they need” for the girls should be half outside of “what they pack”
It’s better to be over-prepared then under prepared.
Keep telling that yourself as you’re hauling extra kilos of clothes you’ll never wear through the mountains.

Ray Stevens – The Camping Trip
Correction:
Keep telling that to your boyfriend/husband as He’s hauling extra kilos of clothes you’ll never wear through the mountains.
Is the guy who made this blind/colour-blind or something?
If he was only colorblind there’d be more contrast.
My eyes are bleeding!!
wrong. men don’t need that much. that’s why we don’t pack that much.

Correction: your teenage brother sucks at packing.
Stereotypes describe the most commonly known version of a class or group of people – not that one time someone you know did something stupid.
I’ve witnessed my father, boyfriend, and best friend from high school pack. It’s the same situation, though to a lesser extreme. I base this on observation of all the males I’m close to, this was just a particularly horrific incident.
Sounds like he packed all that he needed.
Even the toothbrush and fresh underwear are a bit superfluous, really.
Agreed. I need neither. A sleeping bag, a sleeping pad and a water bottle is everything I need. Some extra gloves and socks might also be nice.
The “need” and “pack” circles should be the same on the guys’ side.
^ That
The male side shouldn’t have the outer ring.
Should have used a white font.
Or made the colors lighter. Anything that would have made this readable.
I think there shouldn’t be direct overlap in either of these.
Women what they pack should be twice what they need, with about half of “what they need” outside of the what they packed,
Guys while packing very little still usually pack a handful of items outside of the what they need category.
PURPLE!!!
am i the only one that thinks this looks like purple boobs?
BS! I’m a guy and i have 100% what i need, even without travel. It’s called EDC.

It is amazingly hard to read the text in this graph.
I see boobies.
Glad to be a minority of females. I’m a female and I pack way less than I actually need.
