  1. britchick91 says:

lady gaga is the only talented one out of all of them

    • r3loaded says:

Yeah, she can actually sing (search youtube for lady gaga acoustic).

But she’s just plain weird lol.

    • teehee says:

I hate them all… so I’d have to agree with everyone asking why there’s no all of the above!

    • jedibob5 says:

I don’t care how good Lady Gaga is. With the s**t she wears, she’s an absolute freak, and a publicity whore. She’ll wear the most ridiculous crap just to get the cameras pointed at her. She’s a freakish publicity whore and needs to go away.

      • Myself says:

I think I love you. You are seriousy one of the first people to ever agree that Lady Gaga sucks simply because she cares more about the fame than the music…it is super evident in what she wears and her videos.

        • lizzzy says:

She doesn’t do it for the fame, she does it for her fans and herself, and if she didn’t care about her music she wouldn’t spend her time writing her own songs, and so what if she dresses weird most people dress weird to everyone.

    • SmurfinLennon says:

Yeah but her music is like any other pop star’s music.
She uses her appearance to make everyone think she’s something new and different.
She really is an attention whore.
MAYBE if she put her talent to good use, I’d respect her.

      • OlifBranch says:

Attention whore? Like every other artist (music, film, etc.) that exists? It isn’t as though she is seeking attention any more than any other famous person.

        • Myself says:

Dude, with the stuff she wears and the make up she uses, not to mention that hair, it is quite obvious she cares more for the fame than her music. Because I don’t see every celebrity wearing stuff like that.

  2. Bu says:

where is the all of the above option?

  3. AndrewFoose says:

Of course you can explain why Miley Cyrus is popular. It’s because Disney told gullible tweens to like her.

  4. Cinder says:

I don’t have a problem with Miley, Lady Gaga or Justin. Ke$ha is obviously the worst of them, since she is all autotune, and cannot even try to sing live.

  5. JB says:

The only issue I have is that this suggests Lady Gaga has “talent”…ummmm, no.

  6. Derp says:

Katy Perry releases sugar coated garbage seemingly every week. When will it end?

  7. Severus6278 says:

Why is there not a choice of Miley Cyrus AND Taylor Swift AND Justin Beiber?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  8. me says:

    where’s all of the above??

  9. jellis1971 says:

They are all so overrated it is impossible to choose.

  10. Stardust says:

Just to point out the obvious, here, but every artist listed is labeled as “slutty” except the male. But of course, subtly sexist and racist jokes are nothing out of the ordinary here at cheezburger…

    • Dawg says:

      Dude, they’re all women..?

    • Paul says:

Yes, it’s obviously the tongue-in-cheek sexist joke that is the problem, compared to the recording industry purposely creating and marketing such a public image for all of them. What are you, 12? If you don’t think sex appeal and marketing in popular culture go hand-in-hand then you’re probably in the same demographic that finds these artists talented or interesting. You may wish to raise your objections with the artists themselves for banking more on their real or perceived sex appeal than talent before jumping down other peoples throats for commenting on it. There are people that are worth standing up for, but people that play in to conventional stereotypes intentionally as a money making strategy are certainly not anywhere near that list. Save your self-righteousness for those that aren’t contractually obligated to whore themselves out for album sales, thanks.

      • Stardust says:

        A) You should probably look up the definition of “tongue-in-cheek”

        B) Pretty sure age is irrelevant, even though you sound like someone’s father. And actually, if there was a 12 year old who DID post a comment like that, I would want to be her friend immediately and send her mother a fruit basket

        C) Maybe my problem isn’t based on the use of sex appeal, it’s based on that any time a woman HAS sex appeal she’s referred to as a slut.

I mean, I think bullshit double standards are always worth calling out, regardless of who it is.

Keep your ill-informed and shockingly thoughtless rants to yourself, thanks.

        • domerdaver says:

“any time a woman HAS sex appeal she’s referred to as a slut.”

Any time? Um, no. There are plenty of examples of sexually appealing women who are not referred to as a sluts. You have quite overestimated the undeserved use of that epithet.

        • Your argument would be far more valid if you were discussing someone who managed to be sexy without being slutty. They do exist.

        • Foobar says:

Sheesh, looks like Stardust has a chip on her shoulder. Probably because she hasn’t gotten any lately. ;-)

Yes, it’s true that “sexy but not slutty” female movie/music/etc stars do exist. However, you have picked some bad candidates to try and defend that statement. You may as well be trying to argue that thoughtful well-reasoned conservatives exist, while watching Fox News.

    • Yeah says:

Are you arguing that Kesha, Gaga, and Miley aren’t slutty? Or that Justin Bieber is?

  11. s1500 says:

My theory is that Ke$ha is entirely marketing-driven. They took Britney’s good girl Mickey Mouse Club image(from many years ago) & decided to take the exact opposite route. Throw in some cookie-cutter music & instant hit!

  12. anneonnamoose says:

My answer to that poll is “all of the above”.
Seriously, where has all the good music gone? :(

  13. MRDR says:

I believe Ke$ha is also ‘wildy popular for reasons nobody quite understands’.

  14. havok747 says:

I agree with that statement %100! I voted for Taylor as well.
Pretty much whenever I say anything like that, most of the people I know get semi-upset and act like it’s not true. lol

  15. KC says:

You don’t understand why Gaga is popular? Could it be because she writes infectiously CATCHY (note: I did not say good or bad) songs and does things to ensure she is the public eye. The woman is brilliant at marketing herself. Also, as talent goes, I second the previous comment about listening to her acoustic stuff. She plays piano rather well and does have a good voice.

  16. Villar says:

    Katy Perry -> 2008
    Lady Gaga -> 2009
    Taylor Swift -> 2009
    Jonas Bros -> 2008
    Miley Cyrus -> 2008

Justin Bieber and Ke$ha should be the only ones on the poll, but my vote for the most overrated singer goes to The Drums

  17. T34bagm says:

I think i might be the only one who got it right.. i checked all of em’!

  18. Science_Nerd says:

Can we combine Justin Bieber, The Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus and Ke$ha into one option?

  19. Erica says:

    all of the above -.-

  20. Echo Commando says:

Are they not all overrated, just like Facebook?

    Zing!

  21. laboheme2 says:

Ya, what happened 2 good music, hardly anyone listens to it anymore, And are u implying that Lady Gaga has talent?

  22. Steve says:

I can’t bring myself to hate on lady gaga. I think she works to hard for that. She takes part in writing her own music, she’s a great singer, and she ain’t half bad at playing the keys. Those all defeat my main reasons for hating on pop singers.

  23. xSage.x says:

Gah, I hate all of them.. Yeah, their music is catchy, and gets stuck in my head for the whole effing day, but still, it sucks.

  24. Red Ryder says:

You’ve got it all wrong…. They’re ALL over rated! Not a single one could actually sing without all the equipment used to alter their voices.

  25. Xenon says:

Why isn’t Ke$ha in the middle too?

  26. Bread says:

Hardest poll ever. All overrated, unoriginal tripe.

    So, I voted everyone.

  27. Lilli says:

Ke$ha and Miley should switch places.

  28. Shipoopi says:

they’re all hawt except for bieber

  29. Sarah says:

They’re all popular for no reason because they have corporate sponsers who market the s**t of out them. They are not musical artists, they are pretty faces (I use that term loosely) for the public’s viewing pleasure. Don’t you know it’s not about talent anymore? It’s all about image. That’s what music is now. Image. Why do you think we have people like Lady Gaga and Adam Lambert and Jeffree Star and Katy Perry dressing like something Tim Burton threw up? It’s because talent, in whatever form, is simply not satisfying enough. Everything has to be risque and controversial because it’s EASY.

    /rant

  30. Raven says:

Poll missing an “All of the above” choice.

  31. lolinternets says:

you shouldve put an all of the above button, they all suck

  32. Exhalt says:

    D: All of the above.

  33. noah says:

Why is everyone calling Lady Gaga a she and Justin Beiber a he? I’m pretty sure that that’s backwards.

  34. Haters Gonna Hate says:

Awww. Poor little haters. Miley Cyrus has morals, and isn’t a fame ho, and so you all hate her.

  35. TRexesInF14s says:

It doesn’t matter whether or not you like Gaga’s music; she has talent. She’s got some crazy pipes, and apparently she learned to play the piano at 4.

What could YOU do at 4?

    • kay! says:

I could do multiplication, had perfect printing, was learning to hand write, participated in ballet and could play the violin. It isn’t very difficult to have skills developed by the time you are four years old. in fact most of the people who play classical instruments (piano, violin, ect…) learnt those skills very very young.

  36. Random Person says:

You expect me to choose between Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber?! THEY BOTH SUCK HORRIBLY

  37. Gigadrax says:

    All of them.

  38. Crystallia says:

    Other…

I CAN’T DECIDE. So much overrated sh*t in the options…

  39. tikrjee says:

Um… yea, all of them? Note: there are no male “musical artists” on that list…

  40. bieberfan says:

i think theyre all pretty good but justin bieber is my favorite

  41. Phantom Ninja says:

I dunno, if Katy Perry was so sweet, she wouldn’t have said “I don’t know why I fell in love with Tokio Hotel, you’re so gay and you don’t even like boys” (during her song “Ur So Gay”) on the Malaysia World Stage. That part seemed more petty and angry than sweet to me.

  42. Cannonball says:

Katy perry & taylor swift are the only ones worth the air they breathe into their auto tuners. haha

  43. RCat says:

If the poll was “Who Would You Like ROFLRazzi And the Like To STFU About,” I’d vote all of the above. The only overrated things here are the idiotic screencaps, graphs and demotivationals about these performers that people insist on s***ing out in large quantities. I wouldn’t even give a crap about these people if they weren’t so “despised” on the internet.

  44. Crystallia says:

Alright… I have decided that I think Lady Gaga is the most overrated.

  45. Throw Sand says:

Ke$ha? A singer? When did this happen?!

  46. Polio says:

I like Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. Hate the rest.

  47. BLAH BLIE BLAH BLAH says:

i like lady gaga, because she doesnt claim to be a musician, she claims to be a performer and accepts that shes a slut. :)

  48. Stewie Griffin says:

I think Rhianna is one of the most overrated.

  49. cooldude00101 says:

all of those lame ass singers are overrated

  50. kelly says:

you know? I don’t think I’ve heard a SINGLE comment by anyone, ever actually praising Justin Beiber? On the other hand, I’ve heard WAY too many people commenting about every five microseconds about how much they hate him and how much he sucks – how is he overrated? On the other hand, I wish people would shut the hell up about lady gaga already. She’s just another slutty female singer among way too many other slutty female singers, SHE is WAY overrated.

    • Axebeard McBeardaxe says:

People aren’t going to take you seriously with that comment. Panty-gushing about Justin Beiber then flip-flopping and ranting about how much of a slut Gaga is just doesn’t do it sweetie.

  51. Half-Beard! says:

If you ask me, they’re all pretty terrible.

Then again, this is merely my humble opinion. I mean, I have friends who like Justin Bieber and company but I hold no intentions of shouting down their music preferences. Who am I to criticise the musicians who work so hard for what they believe in?

We don’t have to like them, just begrudgingly put up with them.
    *exhales*

    • ducttapemom says:

I agree. We don’t have to like them, just put up with them. I wonder if everyone would be having these opinions if the “artists” didn’t make as much money as they do?

  52. md says:

ke$sha, miley, justin bieber, lady gaga, tylor swift and the jonas brothers are all equal on first position and then on second comes katy perry.

  53. Loegria says:

BUT – the year is not yet over…

  54. Ron Paul says:

Of all the singers on that list, only Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift can sing.

But all of Taylor Swift’s songs are about the exact same thing.

    That leaves Lady Gaga!!

    • kay! says:

all of lady gagas song are pretty much about the same thing too.(boys, sex, relationships, sex, boys and being “freaky”) most of them even have the same beats. That’s why they are all so catchy.

  55. Cambo says:

ITT: People with little sisters who need to RAGE

  56. Crazy_Sharky says:

    All are overrated =-=”

    Death Metal ftw!!!!

  57. frotant says:

it would be funnier if he put bieber at slutty

  58. Maria says:

Both K$sha and Lady GaGa have amazing acoustic voices. It’s just that they have weird lyrics that make no sense and odd sense of style. Other than that they are incredibly talented. I wasn’t a fan at first, but then I heard them sing acoustic.

But I completely agree with Miley Cyrus. Not sure about Justin Beiber since I’ve never heard any of his music other than the small excerpts played in commercials.

  59. sugar teh kitteh says:

this graph is true… so very very true….

  60. Myself says:

Seriously, people? Justin Beiber is “losing” the poll, and he is incredibly more talented than Lady Gaga, even if he isn’t too talented. Like the graph…besides that Miley Cyrus is widley popular for no reason…the reason is obviously Hannah Montana! Easy enough to think of.

  61. f says:

    all except gaga and swift

  62. Thalia says:

No one is worse than the Jonas brothers. Period.

    P.S. I like Taylor Swift.

  63. Brianna says:

I respect Justin Bieber, i don’t hate him. But the reasons people DO hate him is because his obsessed fans. They even have their own language. OMB, Belieb and Belieber, Holy Bieber and so on and so forth. And every time they see a picture of him they’re like “OMG HE’S SO SEXYYY!!!! I LOVE YOUU!!!!!!!!!” And they spend most of their time on Twitter desperately tweeting him to follow them, on YouTube leaving idiotic comments on his hate videos, and staring at his posters while listening to his music for hours straight. Trust me, I know. My friend is obsessed with him. I just think if his fans were NORMAL, simply fans, he’d be a lot less hated.

  64. lolborg says:

im a teen and they dont matter to me (probably why i have no friends but meh)

  65. alex says:

    ALL OF THE ABOVE

  66. cowfreak says:

I’m with Alex on this. Although the list leaves out many i would include…

  67. HappyCorn says:

I don’t know…Justin Beiber seems pretty slutty to me

  68. Manda says:

Can we go with “All of the above”?

  69. Aza says:

I always feel that all these pop singers are horribly overrated and equally talentless. I just can’t stand any of it. To me it all sounds the same. The worst part is that the vast majority of them write neither their music nor lyrics. All they do is sing well. And you can buy singing lessons, so what makes these people more deserving of the attention than others? What process do they use to determine that Justin Beiber is the one worthy of singing “Baby”? It doesn’t make any sense to me.

    On a side note:
The late P. T. Barnum once told a group of reporters “I honestly don’t care what you people print about me. Just make sure you spell my name right.” The message here is obvious: There is no such thing as bad press. Merely mentioning people puts their name out there, and curiousity will take over and they will find out who that person is and what they do. If you want fads like Ke$ha, Miley Cyrus, Justin Beiber, and Twilight to fizzle out and fade into history then stop talking about them. “Ke$ha is a junkie slut”, “Beiber is a prebuscent girl”, “Miley Cryrus is jailbait”, and “Twilight is gay! Those sparkly emo things aren’t vampires!” We get it. We’ve heard these things a million times. I actually had no clue who Ke$ha, Katy Pery, or Justin Beiber were until I started seeing posts about them on sites like this and ROFLRazi. Obviously, Barnum was right.

And I disagree, posting this comment mentioning all those things I think people should stop talking about is not ironic. How am I supposed to mention “stop talking about [pop culture thing]” without actually saying what it is.

  70. Chuck says:

All of them are talentless and terrible. Until we get some decent music and get rid of those damn computer sounds I’m gonna keep listening to Led Zeppelin and The Beatles

  71. A. says:

You know, i think i almost love you.
If you knew what i have to suffer around my school companions because of gay bieber, you would want kill somebody.

  72. NotMyRealName says:

Ke$ha is a Lady Gaga wannabe. I’m still not entirely sure what that signifies, but it does explain the caving in of my skull.

  73. Gallifrey Queen says:

    ALL OF THE ABOVE!!!!!!!
