  9. John says:

Only after they were taken over by Turner was there any spark of creativity in the product they churned out. These two hacks did more to kill quality animation than anyone else in history!

  10. Yeah says:

Harvey Birdman: When I say the word “superhero”, what names come to mind? Wonder Woman. Aquaman. Superman. Birdman. These are names -

Juror: Uh, excuse me, I don’t think of Birdman.

    Harvey Birdman: Not my point…

  11. Graybiker says:

I am pretty sure I remember the Pink Panther as a child/teenager, so a date of 1993 for the pink panther may not be accurate.

    • Sofa Spud says:

Yeah, Hanna-Barbera didn’t have the character until 1993 — the earlier animated shorts were from DePatie-Freleng Enterprises.

  12. Jaina says:

Gotta be Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo, and Dexter’s Laboratory, in that order. I didn’t like the PPG when they first came out because I thought I was too old for that kind of thing, but the Beat-Alls episode changed my mind right quick on that one! I was never much of a fan of Scooby-Do (which I’m pretty sure would be blasphemy to my siblings), or of the Flintstones and the Jetsons, but my family was all kinds of into them.

  13. oof says:

Hanna-Barberra did more to destroy animation than that hideous big-eyed japanese stuff.

If you want REAL cartoons, check out The Fleischer Brothers. None finer.

  14. Dex1138 says:

Whoa whoa. Blue Falcon is “supporting” even tho he had his own show?

  15. Kael says:

SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SK and MKC forever!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. David says:

Wow lot’s of mistakes – but pretty cool

  17. Jimmy says:

Somewhat disturbing that there is a Gary Coleman Show and the pic is of him as an angel.

    • Joltz says:

I seem to remember seeing an episode of that somewhere.

The new information I find most interesting is the Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm show.

  18. Artie says:

Hey! that’s just Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble three hundred times!

  19. snaked says:

Johnny Bravo had more characters. Suzie, Momma, Carl.

  20. snaked says:

Oh Juan you forgot about the most badass cartoon of them all.
    I. M. Weasel

And I also deduct points for no Red Guy either.

  21. Jag says:

    Muttley FTW!

  22. Fari persia says:

    Muttley,do something!

  23. Sarah says:

“Oooh, what does THIS button do?”

    “NO, DEE DEE!!!”

This is awesome, by the way. I recognise/have seen most of these, and I was born in the early 90′s. Ahh, Cartoon Network, you were awesome in the old days. *reminisces*

  24. Captain Slog says:

I remember actually having a Fantastic max Annual back in the day. I loved that cartoon. Also Superted, Swat Kats and Johnny Quest.

  25. Innocent Bystander says:

If you remove the animations that were based on regular drama, the list reduces a lot.

  26. r1nka says:

I am actually extremely surprised nobody mentions Tom & Jerry…

    • Sofa Spud says:

Sorry, no; they were (according to the article you cite) created by messrs. Hanna and Barbera for Warner Brothers, and were not actually a Hanna-Barbera production.

      • Mo3 says:

animation arts – a book that is published on animation history
states that they were part of hanna and barberas work wihlst mgm still existed

  27. Lolabonne says:

Hong Kong Phooey for classic, Swat Kats for modern.

    • Sofa Spud says:

Sorry, it may be (kinda) old, but “Hong Kong Phooey” is anything but classic. I was four when it hit the air, and I knew it was bad then.

  28. CindyLu says:

    I miss Yakky Doodle.

  29. Robin says:

    Drak Pack!!!

  30. Sofa Spud says:

Ambitious project, but this guy really should have done at least a little bit of research.

Like, the “Super Friends” series that ran 1973-1974 didn’t have the Wonder Twins and their asinine monkey; they were created for the series that ran 1980-1982 (same name, but different series). The superhero interns in the earlier series were Marvin, Wendy, and Wonder Dog.

  31. catgal2005 says:

Um…Dhapne? It’s spelled that way twice and I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to be Daphne. Otherwise, awesome!!

  32. redfroggy says:

This thing is pretty darn cool but…. The person who did this graphic has his main and secondary characters mixed up in quite a few places. I remember watching most of these shows at one time or another and can tell you who was most important. Good examples are Pixie & Dixie, he has them as secondary.. uhh… no. Also, Speed Buggy, and he has Tinker as the primary. Uhh.. the show was called Speed Buggy and was about a talking car. I’m pretty sure Speedy is the primary. There are others but I won’t do the whole wall of text thing to give those examples.

  33. iGetBored.T_T says:

Yay! It has Dexter’s Lab, Cow and Chicken, and Powerpuff Girls! <3 That's my childhood right there! :D *God, this makes me feel old, and I'm a teenager, haha*

  34. brakabaka says:

We had to go through so much crap to get to Scooby Doo, and then even MORE crap to get to Dexter’s lab.

  35. Nefarious_the_Z-Stack says:

Oh geeze! Theres too many that I like! I gotta settle for a tossup between Wacky Races and Dexter’s Laboratory.

  36. amethyst42 says:

The Completely Mental Adventures of Ed Grimley! OMG I loved that!
girl “I’m going to get my roots frosted” Ed: “Won’t that affect the harvest?”

  37. nameless023 says:

Let’s see… I remember Huckleberry Hound, Quick Draw McGraw, Augie Doggie and Doggie Daddy, Snopper and Blabber, The Flintstones, Yogi Bear, Top Cat, Yakky Doodle, The Jetsons, Scooby Doo, Tom & Jerry, A Pup Named Scooby Doo(not sure), Dumb & Dumber, Dexter’s Lab, Johnny Bravo, Cow & Chicken and the Powerpuff Girls.

I don’t know how but I only know the oldest ones (first row), a few in the middle rows and some in the last row. AND I’m only 17… But this totally made my day :D

  38. nameless023 says:

    I couldn’t agree more with you… Muttley ftw :D !!

  39. Lee says:

What about The Great Gazoo on the Flintstones?

  40. duff says:

finally! proof that shirt tales and the snorks actually existed! you have no idea how many blank looks i’ve gotten whilst trying to educate the uncultured. ;~)

  41. Jen says:

So much awesome! I was amazed that some of the cartoons I remember watching regularly were so old!

  42. Alce says:

Where are the 2 stupid dogs ?!?!?!?!
    Come on !! ahahhaha

  43. Ravenclaw Borg says:

In order, starting with my most favorite: Velma (by far), Bandit, Elroy Jetson, Shaggy, Scooby Doo, Race Bannon (he knows ju jitsu(sp?)!), Rosie the Robot, Judy Jetson, and Professor Hyde White.

All Scooby Doo characters are exclusively the “Scooby Doo, Where Are You?” versions.
