for most websites, the content they care about is the ads. it’s the only reason the site exists. sites like holy taco and such are not there to bring you fresh or original content. but yeah, like the others said, get adblock plus.

I don’t mind the civilized adds.
I hate those F@cking things.
I block ads. I’d gladly pay $10 a month extra to my ISP to be distributed to the sites I visit, sure. But ads? no. /etc/hosts.
I never had a problem with ads until PirateBay started using those YOU’RE A WINNER! and stupid Evony ones with music. It never seems to fail that my speakers are as loud as possible, too.
I get the content first on the Cheezburger sites, actually.
