    :’D

  2. Boykes says:

Hahaha. They tell me the whole time to stop spamming XD. I don’t laugh so loud that I have crossed-eyes, but I can come up to the level of the upper one. Still a great and honest graph

  3. Kelsie says:

This graph really made me :) though. I do have a habit of typing LOL when I barely smirked.

  4. Dark says:

I don’t know. A typed :) probably equals a real :) , but this should be a down-sloping graph that gradually goes to zero as the emoticon gets more ridiculous. xd indeed.

  5. mlg says:

This graph is true, but partly because the smilie represents what you feel INSIDE, and because you aren’t as likely to change your facial expression that much when you’re at a computer compared with talking to someone.

    • DaynaMarie says:

Exactly. I often use the smilie to show show that a comment I typed that could be taken the wrong way isn’t meant to be. When one doesn’t have tone of voice or facial expression to go by, they need something else to find the meaning of the text.

    • Casa says:

      but but… I make the faces… o0 Everyone else isn’t making the faces? 0o

      … now I feel silly.

      • Ralf says:

I make the faces. Generally, I only use a emoticon after I’ve actually made its corresponding face.

      • DevAd says:

        My face goes o0 often.

        • FireElf says:

So one of your eyes often just pops up and out?

I actually make the faces too. And LOL at the computer. Sometimes one of the people I live with comes knocking on the door ’cause I LOL’d really loud and they want to see what’s going on :P I even LOL (or at least smile) when I’m irritated or sad and my bf walks up to me and lifts the corners of my mouth with his fingers whilst giving me a sad puppy look.
          Easily amused? Norly? XD

  6. blooblelibble says:

i see it like this. when you do alot of chatting on the internet you stop making outward shows of emotion and everything goes through your hands into what you type. and your chat develops a sort of body language if you will :)

  7. Phlip says:

This graph is also accurate if you replace the x axis with lol/rofl/lmao/etc and the y axis with actual laughter…

  8. YourMother says:

    *SMILEY

    ¬¬

  9. chickfromhell15 says:

hey, i actually smile like an idiot when i type these sometimes. it just depends who i’m talking to…

  10. Vahvetti says:

    Haha, awesome!
“Truest graph I ever saw” as someone said :)

  11. Sidnoea says:

The incline should be a little sharper, but other than that, this graph is SPOT ON. XD (Nope, no facial expression.)

    • FireElf says:

That made me laugh. Seriously. I’m really bad at not actually laughing at stuff I find even slightly funny.
(yes, I giggled a lot as a little girl)

      • FireElf says:

Though I mostly laughed at the idea of somebody’s face going XD and then abruptly to ‘meh -_- ‘ :P

  12. :D says:

    best graph ever :’D

  13. bayma says:

    SMILE — not SIMILIE.

A simile is a figure of speech comparing two unlike things, often introduced with the words “like”, “as”, or “than”. As in, “The creator of this graph spells like a retard.”

  14. Igetstabby says:

You are only allowed to use an emoticon if you make the corresponding facial expression to your screen first.

  15. Muffin says:

    Lolwhat.

  16. Proupin says:

I usually stuff like :) or :D I use to show a comment is to be taken as a joke… but for lol and stuff I never use if I don’t actually laugh… Keep it real!
