  1. mamarosa says:

This thing Godwin’d itself before we even got started.

  2. Travis says:

Where the hell is the MAIL CALL!?! The greatest show History Channel ever had and I have no idea when/if it’s even on anymore.

  3. Graf says:

I really think people need to do some spellchecking before uploading. Or maybe someone here can explain to me what “relivence” means.

  4. Kukki says:

or maybe watch the history channel for once?
oh well, maybe just the german version isn’t totally clichée (we have news channels for hitler and WWII stuff…).

    • SparrowsBite says:

in the States, the History Channel is usually mocked as being the “Hitler” Channel, as it shows the three most popular wars around the majority of the time: WWII, the Korean War, and the Gulf War – otherwise known as the US’s greatest triumphs. It’s usually called the Hitler channel though because of the “H.”

Every time I’ve watched it, I’ve seen some pretty egregious errors during its programs: for example, I’m fairly sure Augustus Caesar did NOT say “Veni Vidi Vici,” the Ottoman Empire, despite being fairly brilliant in the Middle ages, did not invent paper so much as it merely borrowed the technology from the Chinese, and many of these so-called air pilots’ stories of heroics turned out to be either historically or physically impossible. Furthermore, the History channel (like everyone else, but moreso than most) is very picky about historical context to a fault – to the point where they start painting a totally different simplified picture of history. So there goes the History Channel’s reputation in the US.

  5. gunfighterzero says:

aint it the truth. their programming sucks now days

  6. Daniel says:

You better not have included Pawn Stars in the no relevance. That has a lot to do with history. It teaches us how things were created back then and the different histories that go behind stuff. That show is awesome! I absolutely love the father.

  7. Kelzy says:

They forgot conspiricy theory shows about UFOs and MonsterQuest

    • fish eye no miko says:

I actually like “MonsterQuest”. Well, when they actually deal with cryptozoological animals, anyway. It seems like lately, it’s all about animals getting loose in non-native territories, like pythons in Florida and stuff… Makes me wish “Lost Tapes” would make some more episodes, it’s a lot more fun.

  8. Anon says:

they forgot to put shows about Nostrodaums and 2012 on there which are almost always on. but this is a very accurate graph. kudos to whom ever made it.

    • Alexandrea says:

I agree. I gave it a 5 and I almost never give graphs on here a 5 any more. Compared to “who wears short shorts” and “when my mom vacuums” it’s almost in the genius category.

    • geor says:

Man those are best. Gotta love the shows about when mankind suddenly disappears.

  9. ajohnson153 says:

They also forgot about cheesy Dan Brown movie tie ins.

  10. Yuri says:

That’s SOOOOO true!!!! I hate those reality shows that have nothing to do with history. And that underground cities show.

  11. SKW says:

    And yet I can’t stop watching it…

You know it’s not The History Channel anymore, right? It’s just History.

  12. Rachel of Cyberia says:

I like watching the History Channel, but it’s all reruns.

  13. Miroku says:

    Eh sort of true.

Around New Years its typically Armageddon. Then you got garbage like Ax Men, and Ice Road truckers. Then you have some alright programing sometimes.

But really I’ve moved onto History International. They typically have better programing.

Hitler, and WW2 has been toned down on History, most of that stuff went to The Military Channel.

I’m just sort of rambling right now… then again I just woke up.

  14. AngryDwarf says:

    Relevance fail :D

  15. Kate says:

In the UK just replace American History with Tudors

    • tahrey says:

And Chris Barrie or similar jobbing minor celebs (including the occasional DIBNAH) doing noisy, fast paced, factually questionable programs about various historically important bits of machinery or architecture… and blowing them up.

  16. that guy says:

    Spelling fail.

  17. Shouldn’t someone who spends that much time watching the history channel know how to spell “relevance?”

  18. Robert says:

This graph is sad but true. I remember when the History Channel used to be good. I’d watch LOADS of stuff on the Egyptians.

  19. Amanda says:

If its not after 11 pm but its not daytime then what time is it?

  20. 2012 says:

    You forgot insane apocalypse theories

  21. joshbersteinsfuturewife says:

I miss digging for the truth :( it was the best show on the History Channel. It was generally (generally) pretty accurate too.

  22. tuttle88 says:

True. Still love the history channel though

  23. A. Person says:

sex on the history channel?! has the world gone mad?!

    • Free Love says:

Yeah. They had a whole 5 part documentary on the history of Sex. It was actually very interesting, much better than all the apocalyptic nonsense it’s airing now.

Fun fact: the Maya Calendar ends in 5 billion years, even if they were right that’s a long ways away.

  24. man says:

ok i just looked at the graph it came to hitler i changed to the history channel and hitler was on it lol

  25. Derek says:

I’m tired of reruns of Axmen and Ice Road Truckers. I’ve since moved on to Smithsonian and Science, but Pawn Stars is really cool.

  26. Cristiano Yamaguchi says:

    I got a good lol

  27. ChaoticEvilElfSorceress says:

    HITLER!!!! lol
