Most think that “europe” is in russia…
Ukraine used to be part of the Soviet Union (when Chernobyl happened) so it would make sense for people who don’t live there to think that.
And there is a region in Russia called “European Russia”

Wrong. The continent of Europe ends at the Ural mountains, which are well inside Russian territory. Everything west of the Urals, including such cities as Moscow and St. Petersburg, are part of Europe. The rest of Russia to the east (Siberia, on to Vladivostok) is part of Asia. However, that doesn’t mean that Russia is part of the E.U., which it isn’t.
Yes, the area of Russia west of the Ural Mountains is called “European Russia” and technically, that is still Europe. But many people think that Europe ends at the Russian border.
It’s not “called” European Russia. It’s European Russia. You won’t find anyone saying “I’m from European Russia”.

if you write this way “*obenhavn” I’m OK with the “K”

It is in Ukraine. You can actually get there from Kiev (capital of Ukraine) by bus.
