+1. This will keep you from having to find/purchase new remote batteries for at least another couple of months, although depending on how much TV you watch the constant stinging of your palm may not be worth it.

El problema es que la mayoria de las veces el problema no está en las baterias sino en la pelicula de grafito que actua como conductor en el teclado del mando, con el tiempo este se degrada, pero apretando mas el teclado llega a hacer el puente en las pistas del circuito impreso del teclado, de ahi viene la costumbre de apretar el teclado y no de las baterias.

Maybe it´s a Noob, but it works. And it is because an effect of the current flowing throug the circuit; Less current flowing, more conductive surface you need, then you have to press the membrane swhither harder.

I keep a spare set of rechargeables plugged in nearby. When the remote starts failing, I unplug them and plug them back in to top them off again, and then swap them when they’re fully charged.

Far more often than I’d like, it being a TiVo remote with backlight. I need to disable that backlight.

I don’t push the buttons.
I usually remove the cover and rub the batteries a bit.Works 80% of the time.Unless they’re really empty.

My remote has dodgy connections in the battery port. I can usually get it to work by rattling it up and down a bit. I really must fix those springs.

I’m I the only one who noticed that the batterie that commes with the remote (ex. Panasonic or Sony batteries) last like forever, but the Energizer or Duracell you replace them with hardly last a year or so?

(If they lasted longer, they would sell less… so it makes sense…)

You can test 9v batteries with your tongue, but remote usually take 1.5v (AA or AAA) batt.
Unless you are a giraph.. giraf.. or w/e it,s called in english, you wont be able to test thoses with you tongue
