  1. AL says:

F-I-R-S-T THAT SPELLS FIRST FOR ME

  2. Savage says:

Heh, took me a while to understand it at first but when I did, I laughed a little. It’s a true graph most of the time. :)

  3. hmm says:

A lot of times when people are “Just Looking” they’re getting ready to steal crap. That’s why salespeople hover around and bug people. To deter them from doing it.

    • slupine says:

Yeah but how do they know you’re “just looking” versus actually looking to buy? It does not explain that when I am looking to actually BUY something that I’d need help with, the salespeople are GONE.

    • Quantumleaper says:

Perfectly describes the events of every trip to Best Buy I’ve ever made.

      • thestashattacked says:

It’s funny, cos last time I was at Best Buy I inadvertently had all four cute guys on the floor helping me.

  4. Naru says:

I work in retail, and often I do what some customers might call ‘hovering’ but in reality I’m just doing my job and cleaning up.

  5. Pew Pew says:

This is so true. I’ll be window shopping and tell them “just looking” and they hover, then as soon as I turn to ask a question they’re gone! They were just there a second ago!

  6. Charlotte says:

My local Dixons is almost like this- except that the salespeople are never there when you’re at the till waiting to pay either.

  7. Sal says:

Arguably, if he or she is in Narnia, it should be no problem. Time moves differently there so the 80 or so years the salesperson is in there will pass in less than a second on earth, meaning they’ll be back and ready to answer all your questions in just a second.

  8. Robyn says:

The school bully puts me in Narnia every other day! Except, Narnia looks a lot like my locker.

  9. Rebecca says:

    DEAR OP,

Lighten the hell up! Usually, we’re being hovered over by our boss, telling us to hover over you. MORE THAN LIKELY, you have a nasty attitude and, usually, no intention of buying anything. You think I want to follow you around smiling and asking you stupid, obvious questions in my most pleasant voice while you roll your eyes and waste MY time?

    No.

    But it’s my job.
Thanks for being so understanding! =]

    -Your average retail slave

    • meetooo says:

Hey- you’re just trying to make a living. Most people in retail are going to school to do something else, because they’ve realized that they don’t want to be a slave for the rest of their lives. I say good for you! I hope you laugh all the way to the bank (when you get that degree that is). Most sales people I’ve met can’t stand their boss!!

  10. mathiusdragoon says:

Many of those cases where an employee is “hovering” over you are due to the fact that the salesperson has a commission. Many retail floor positions are paid partially in commission, often heavily. Some places even insist that their sales people take 100% commission. There is a reason that there is thing called the “GAP challenge/Buckle challenge” where you try to touch the back wall of the store and get back out without being talked to by a salesperson.

  11. jaz says:

    Made me smile, thanks!

  12. Tim says:

    The graph is mildly amusing.

The labels really make it hilarious.

  13. Lolover says:

Was meh up until the word “Narnia.”
