That makes sense, what should you listen to when sad? Following this logic, you should listen to sad music when happy, otherwise there wouldn’t be any use for the sad music. I also do it and it often helps me, the “i listen to songs to my mood” kinda says this.
Blues for white folks. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE country music (good country, that is, meaning NOT drawling cowboy-hatted pop singers, but real country artists like Waylon Jennings.
Once played a country record backwards. Got my wife back, the tornado completely missed my house, my dog came home, and at least the rat bastard that totalled my pickup truck had insurance.
lol I totally agree. I loved them in high school when I was super emo and listened to nothing but angsty teen music. I still enjoy them from time to time, though they’re certainly not the musical geniuses my 15-year-old self believed.
i really didnt mean to offend anyone in making this graph!!! Im really sorry if I did, its just what i observed within three years of highschool and two in college
I don’t think they’re offended. They’re just snippy. Its a cute graph. For myself, I always go with Wierd Al/Jonathan Coulton/Monty Python when I’m depressed, and sad music the rest of the time.
I cry…
I cry…
I cry…
I cry…
What’s falling down?
Tears filled with blood.
That is my heart breaking in half.

I remember when rock was young
Me and Suzie had so much fun
Holdin’ hands and skimmin’ stones
Had an old gold Chevy and a place of my own
But the biggest kick I ever got…
You may be emo, but im f1rst
This mindless feeling of superiority you have proves how much of a douchebag you are.
we didn’t ask for your life story
Happy songs only make me more depressed when I’m sad.
Happy songs make me so happy that i wanna cry… (Euphoria and Bliss)
thank you
Just ignore it, and it will go away
That may look emo, but sadly it’s true. FACE(PALM) IT!

There is no one saying what you should listen to. There’s just this graph that indicates what people often do.
I used to have a tape labeled “Pull Up!” that was specifically for when I was feeling down – it contained a bunch of upbeat, happy songs.
I usually used it to counteract the tape (yes, these were cassettes) labeled “Hooked on Romantic Depression.”
Sad songs say so much.
“Songs about Death and Dying” You said the same thing twice
death is when you’re dead, dying is the process.
but sad songs make me feel better. you need to cry sometimes, to feel better – at least it works for me.
More specifically, country music. The music of pain.
what do you get when you play a country song backwards?
You get your house back. You get your wife back. You get your dog back. . .
I think you mean the music of LAME.
I see what you did there… *giggles*

Xander is my hero, lol
Do songs about other ppl dieing count as happy or sad?
If they are assholes, it’s a happy song
this must be how Simple Plan made all their money…

Eh I listen to what people may call depressing music about death, but it calms me.
I recommend the Flaming Lips for super happiness!
Try listening to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujftCWxZ0_w
And say how you feel…
Sad songs always cheer me up, cheery songs disgust me anytime
Ditto. Joy Division FTW!
Sad songs are Nature’s onions

^^ Thanks. I’m always worried about offending people… :S
That’s all that’s on my iPod :-/
I don’t necessarily listen to specific types or moods of music when I’m sad.
I just listen to whatever pops up.
The blue part should just be “Radiohead”.
When sad, death metal is the cure:)
Death Magnetic!!
you mean country?

So, I’m a part of a minority.
Great.
I’m a part of a minority, you owe me respect, you racist! Mouahahahaha!!
Probably cause they want something to relate to or they cant stand happy songs
I listen to Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds” when I’m feelin’ down and it cheers me up right away.
