By “swears,” do you mean cuss words? or little kids saying, “I didn’t do it, I SWEAR!”? It’s not clear, thus making the graph un-funny. How did this one end up on the front page?!?!
“Swears” aren’t quantifiable, there’s no such thing as “a swear”. There is “a swear word”. Or “swearing” (in which case it would be “the amount of swearing”).
this is sooooo true…my grandpa is like 78 and he cusses like 24/7/365. it pisses me off…and high school….every little sentence u hear has a cuss word in it!
You know, the chart’s too hard to follow. It’d be funnier if you could actually see what it should mean on first glance.
you’re pretty easy to follow… not really funny though*-)
K I know plenty of eleven year old’s that DON”T say 100 swears in 1 conversation. This graph SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!>:(
Wow I didn’t notice that. The graph is totally shaped like an N.
(reference to N-word?)
……clever……
If only you could spell ‘anonymous’ right.
perhaps Anonymiss is a girl? and tries to be funny so it’s a spelling error Anonymiss is aware of
obviously not, its true that teenagers and old people curse alot dont be one of those people who think that everyone is racist
epic:)
Pretty true, although the scale is rather logarithmic looking…
5, 5, 5, 5, 80.
Not so logarithmic looking to me.
What? It’s 5,7,2,6,20,20,20.
You left out the GIANT spike of online gamers.
The Internet is a completely different situation, you futher mucking bon of a sitch.
Oh yah? Well you’re a siece of pitch! You eteroid saking little col lat!!!
Sorry, I just had to try out the letter switcing ^_^

Because it’s the newest… duh!
spike hit to early. I, and most people I know in their early twenties, seem to have substituted F bombs for “uh” in conversation.
Holy cow, this explains my mother. She’s 75, and it’s embarrassing how often she says the word “sh*t”.
“Frank’s Red Hot Sauce. I put that sh*t on everything!”
I’m fairly certain that “Swears” are quantifiable, and should therefore be referred to as a number not an amount.
Thank you. That was driving me nuts.
It’s like “zero tolerance”. Whenever I see or hear that phrase I think, “zero tolerance? Isn’t it OK to have five tolerance? Or maybe ten tolerance?”

so a conversation between a 12 year old and an 80 year old………..oh dang =(
WtF is a swear? Swear is a verb, you can have a number of a verb.
OMG the 12 year old stat is sooooooooooooooooooooooo true im 12 and heard about 10,000 swearwords today
this is sooooo true…my grandpa is like 78 and he cusses like 24/7/365. it pisses me off…and high school….every little sentence u hear has a cuss word in it!
Whoa! Why does it from 20 to 100?
I’m 14, and I DO swear like a sailor, but I don’t swear in most conversations. I know when to swear and when not to swear.
Im 10 and i don’t cuss, but this kid on my bus named anthony says 2 cuss words a sentence.
