I agree with the your own neighborhood thing, although that probably falls apart if your neighborhood has lots of through traffic or a lot of people. Besides that, people are more likely to be courteous because they figure you’re likely to either know each other or at minimum see each other again. Elsewhere, people feel anonymous in their cars and feel free to be jerks. Just like the internet! People are civil on Facebook usually but on anonymous comment threads they go berserk.
Holy crap! I had to drive for the first time on Black Friday and the people were total idiots and it was late morning by then! I’d hate to think of what it was like at 3:00am when people were still trying to make the crazy sales. I’m never making another doctor’s appointment on Black Friday again. People are just plain psycho!
I agree. It doesn’t stop with cars on Black Friday though, it carries over into shopping carts. I made the mistake of going to Target just to check it out on Black Friday, and people didn’t pay attention where they were pushing those things. I will never check out Black Friday sales again.
Maybe it’s because I live in the wanna-be ghetto, but my neighborhood drivers don’t seem too nice. Holidays are definitely worse though. Gotta be aggressive like everybody else is.
This is so true, in college I was an asst. manager in a well-known girl store in a big mall. On black friday, on my way to work, I am descending via the highway exit to my street. I get rear-ended so hard, my airbags deploy, and I was OUT COLD! What did the amazing American consumers do? Check on me? NO. Help me? NOPE. (I was 19 yrs. old, driving a girly eclipse at the time, BTW.) WHAT THEY DID>>>> divert around me on the exit ramp to get to the shopping. FINALLY someone stopped. I was freezing (my car died) and had no cell phone. Also, my boss was PISSED at me for being late!!!! IT WAS 5:30 AM!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOLZ. YOU ARE NOT FIRST!
i hate “first comment”
…unless you live in DC, in which case you get the homicidal maniacs no matter where or when you’re driving.
Ha ha. Exactly my thoughts.
I never read all the Y-axis
Agreed.
true dat
I find its the opposite – the drivers where i live are awful, but on holiday they’re much better
On the holidays they’re usually pissed (on the holiday) because they aren’t with their family, or oddly kind (the 24th)

oh the irony!
You should have reversed the y-axis

This graph also could have been titled “Drivers According to my Father.”
All the people in my neigborhood ARE homicidal maniacs with no heart…No seriously. They ran over my f**king cat.
