So, I know I’m a bit late on this… but yeah, after a seasonal job taking overpriced X-mas pictures at the mall, any enjoyment for a lot of that music is destroyed for me. The worst was a recording that had ” glo-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-ria in ek-Sels-ees deo,” which my high school choir teacher made clear was a sign of ignorance. I kept wanting to go up and fix it and couldn’t, peon that I was.

8 hour shifts with the charlie brown xmas album playing on a loop last Christmas. I still twitch.

However, there are rare days in June/July/etc where the occasional xmas song isn’t too bad.

Because of the music that stores insist on playing from opening until closing (some 24 hours) and the years I spent working, I no longer listen to the radio in my car or in my house. The idea is that music keeps shoppers in the stores longer and causes them to buy more. For me, I can’t get out of there fast enough.

My dad and I went to see “Brothers” last weekend but, since we got their early, we were forced to listen to the “Movie Tunes.” All they’ve got right now is awful covers of Christmas music.
We got through one song and I thought it was over. But then the announcer guy says, “And now, ‘FROSTY THE SNOWMAN,’ by…”
I just shouted, “ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!”
And the older lady in front of me turned around and said, “That’s just what I was thinking!”

Try living in Australia, and being subjected to songs about snow and winter while suffering through sweltering heat and humidity. The worst thing is, they’re not actually about Christmas at all, just winter. I don’t mind real Christmas songs so much, as long as they’re not being murdered by some so called diva who thinks the tune is optional.

Half the office complained and they still won’t turn it off.

Be happy your workplace doesn’t play it.

After 2 months of listening to it on people’s hold music at work while on the phone, they decided “hey let’s play it over the speakers in the office!”

I’d hang myself by my phone cord if I could find something to hang off of.
