  1. cboe says:

This graph doesn’t make any sense. You can’t have the time and the place on the same side.

  2. Jerry says:

Hobby lobby started in July, about the time I started working there.

    It’s been hell.

  3. Yo Yo Katie-o says:

    I dont get it

  4. crafty says:

You know that projects don’t just put themselves together, right? If you are making something decorative, you need time to complete it before putting it up.

  5. c-k says:

    So true, so true……

  6. HUH? says:

this makes no sence at all.. you fail

  7. 8th Mom I'm on FAILBLOG says:

    8th Mom I’m on FAILBLOG
    SO TRUE

  8. carro says:

I’ve worked at Joanns–like the other commenter said, it takes time to make all those cute handicrafts, therefore we sell the Christmas materials early so people have plenty of time.

Granted everyone still comes in like the last two weeks and tries to make gifts for everyone at the last minute. BUT! We do make it available! Procrastination’s on you~

  9. kacky says:

well DUH, you have to buy fabric early if you want the project done for Christmas. This graph is FAIL.

  10. Caoilinn says:

Definitely a FAIL graph. I’m a crafter (granted, I do beadwork on leather, and the like) but I definitely know that it takes time to do crafts. If I wanted to make something for Christmas and couldn’t get the materials in September/October, that would totally mess me up.

    Grapher: you FAILed.

  11. Rose W. says:

Except that of COURSE they carry the Christmas stuff early. So people can actually make Christmas crafts.

    FAIL.

  12. DNKROZ says:

    Chrismas season?
    This graph suuuuucks.

  13. aaron m says:

I’ve seen stores stuck up at May

  14. Igetstabby says:

There’s only 365 shopping days before Christmas!

  15. Holy crap. How did this get on the front page?

  16. paul says:

    This is a FAIL

  17. Steroid says:

Every year people complain about the Christmas season starting earlier. . . then every other song on the radio is about how we wish Christmas lasted all year. Make up your minds!

  18. EvilStepQueen says:

I work at JoAnn’s Fabric and Crafts…and yes…Christmas started wwaaaaay too early in the store. It was still hot outside and we got in Christmas stuff…It’s like Fall didn’t exsist…the Autumn stuff came in and was squashed out by the Christmas stuff….sad

    • kacky says:

You might work there but you obviously don’t do any crafting (assembling pre-made components does not count) or you would understand that we need the supplies in the fall. Some of us construct beautiful, complicated items that require planning and time. Get out of tyhere if you don’t respect your customers.

      • EvilStepQueen says:

kacky…wow maybe all of that crafting has turned you into an old spinster, before your time…cranky much?
I do craft. I do respect my customers. I understand the whole marketing/buying/selling blah blah blah…I was just commenting on how it seems like Christmas comes sooner and sooner every year. Calm down. Put down those safety scissors. I meant no disrespect. Wow some people are psyyyyychooooo on here!!! :S

      • lalala says:

        Where is “tyhere”?

  19. Adam says:

I appreciate the idea that you’re trying to carry, but this type of graph is really inappropriate for the data. You can’t use a line graph for a categorical variable like that (categorical by default because “Fabric Stores” are a category). A more appropriate way to show the data would be “Length of the Christmas Season (Y-axis) vs. Time (X-axis). Fabric stores could have it’s own dashed-line over time to denote that it does not change in relation to time.

  20. Margaret says:

My SO didn’t believe me that I had to buy my Christmas project material in July until we went to Beverly’s and he saw for himself. He also laughs because I’m too busy to finish everything in the same year so I bring it out seasonly as a “decoration” e.g. the Halloween quilt sitting by the couch instead of on it. Also – great comment by Adam re the graph structure – makes me wish I was still teaching math to use it as an example!

  21. Trogdor B. says:

    Spelling of “Christmas” FAIL!

  22. asdfghjKEV says:

    They have lay-away!

  23. NP says:

This is a big ol’ sloppy suck of a graph.

  24. philip says:

    Fabric stores…. from the future!

  25. Tairii says:

Not true. I work at a store that sells fabric. I got yelled at in May for not having new Christmas Fabric for sale.
Starting with it in September would be a dream.

  26. goondar says:

To all the people who made the comments regarding making cute Christmas decorations, you are correct.

That being said, I do not need 4 MONTHS to put up an artificial Christmas tree!!!!! I noted that a major wholesale store had their trees up in AUGUST!!!!!!

  27. Tyler says:

    This graph sucks.
