    FIRST!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, this graph doesn’t apply to modern governments, tyrannical dictatorships don’t do anything either inexpensively or on time

    • Humm. says:

Maybe the person who made the graph didn’t come up with anything better for an unethical way the governments do things. Or that’s just overexaggerating, could be there to mean something like “ramming their way through”.

  2. sane person says:

Insane tax hikes fall under ethical? Interesting.

    • dhydar says:

…. I think the intent was that ethical / speedy implies huge cost.

      • Stuff-n-stuff says:

yeah, and taxes dont just go into the president’s pocket you know. they build roads, programs, etc. to help our country. how EFFECTIVE these are is currently under debate.

  3. Ruan says:

That’s because you don’t know Brazil. We have High taxes, politicians have no ethics, buildings are always overpriced and WHEN we get something done, it’s not on time. You should be happy :D

    • meh says:

You can NOT complain about Brazil, your president, in a few years, came up from a semi favela country to a first world country, taking out half of the poverty of your country and getting huges ammounts of money, out of nothing.

Have you seen the countries around you? Argentina, Peru, Chile, Uruguay, etc? You can’t complain..

      • ewwee says:

Do you live in Brazil? You are telling a native that he doesn’t know what he is talking about! And that he has no right to complain.

        • Electricmotion says:

I’m a native to the USA and people from other countries tell me that all the time.

          • Electricmotion says:

Welcome to the flame war Brasil. Its only gets better. Just be happy that the electronics taxes are finally reasonable and that you can get online at all. Lol.

  4. transistor09 says:

First of all, “the government” not “a”.
Secondly, if you can predict what is written outside a circle using common sense, don’t write it- that ruins the fun.
Also, nice work not misusing the word paradox, I was getting tired of that.
I would upload some funny graphs, but they don’t come up, even in the “Upcoming” section.

  5. big says:

Remember when graphjam had funny graphs?

  6. philip says:

    STOP THE TRIPLE OPPOSITES!

All things which aren’t inexpensive are expensive. All things which aren’t on time are late. All things which aren’t done ethically are tyrannical. The only original thing about a graph such as this is the center.

And in this case, as in half the cases, the center simply means “impossible”.

This is not original. It is old, and done a dozen times. Please, stop doing this.

  7. kelesse says:

I work in public health, which is a government-run program that keeps your life fairly free from a lot of nasty things on a pittance of your money. We help keep millions from suffering from TB, HIV, syphilis, cryptosporidiosis, rabies, measles, whooping cough, hepatitis, and a host of other diseases. If we didn’t, your life wouldn’t be half as easy as it is. And we don’t make squat for doing it.

Not only is what we do ethical, timely, and inexpensive, it’s indispensible. Thanks for forgetting we exist — that alone proves we’re doing our jobs, and your graph is an uninformed fallacy.

    • itwasadarkandstormynight says:

      People still get rabies? Really?
This is not a sarcastic comment; I’m honestly surprised.

      • Worldview says:

Yup, people still get rabies. A coworker is travelling to several south american countries next year and is being strongly encouraged to get the rabies shot before she goes.

      • kelesse says:

In many places, no, they don’t get rabies, because there is a program in place to make sure (regardless of their income) they get the (expensive) rabies IG and shots they need to prevent the infection taking hold and killing them.

    • quix0te says:

If we acknowledged that government agencies can do things cheaply and efficiently, we’d be…. hmm. France?

Thank you BTW. Lets all blow kisses at Jonas Salk. While we’re at it.
      Just ’cause.

  8. itwasadarkandstormynight says:

Aren’t most governments in futuristic novels dystopian?

  9. Bobnine says:

Two generations late? more like never.

  10. JD says:

    Better late than never!

  11. DangerFart says:

The only correction would be that even when projects are done ethically and with a massive tax hike, they’re still never on time.

  12. some random guy says:

    that is sooo true

  13. i'm doing your mom's second cousin twice removed by marriage says:

people are doing things ethically and on time somewhere? shut up and take my money!
