I ruined a few of my favorite shirts that way.

I just don’t care anymore, LoL. I have mild acne, and probably always will. It doesn’t bother me much, and I’m too lazy to stick to a regimen like proactiv anyway.

Normal cleanser, got worse, Proactive, got worse AND many of my favorite shirts are now ruined, Pills, getting worse and I have to keep chap stick on me at all times… acne sucks.

Really? Benzoyl peroxide is the only thing that ever controlled mine. Salicylic acid made it worse for me. HE LIES.

But the Proactiv system only worked a little bit for me, so I totally agree with this graph. The whole “subscription” thing that you had to do to get it was bull, too. I was on the phone for a good while as the customer service man tried to convince me to not cancel, only to find out next month that “they accidentally had a problem with my cancellation and it didn’t go through oopssorryblahblahh.”. Plus there is other products I did like from them, that I couldn’t buy separately without getting roped into a monthly billing of the 3-step. Good thing Ebay exists.

I don’t believe “winers” is a word. did you mean “whiners” or “wineries”? Also, “everybody who did use…you’re a bunch of winers” is said after an extremely long, “winey” comment. You also can’t start a sentence with the word “and”.

Being another teen that is pretty much through with puberty yet STILL has persistent acne….. proaciv sucks balls. I used it for two years, then the “extra strength” for another. All I got was dry skin and super frustrated. Six months on pills and my face looks ten times better.
But acne still sucks.

it works for me (when i use it consistently, but that’s not the product’s fault). In fact, it’s the ONLY thing that works for me.

It’s for non-complicated acne only. All those creams and toners and anti-bacterial soaps only help you control the surface of your skin. And probably just apply to teenagers anyway (puberty anyone?). Don’t you people get information first and THEN look for the appropriate treatment?

When all of them seem to fail, it probably means you need to take an appointment with a derm or your doctor about other types of treatment.

I used to sell this stuff. Tried using it, but found that the body wash actually worked better than the step system. Eventually switched to a regular from the store face-wash. But I told every single customer that I loved the products and used them regularly. I was still using the makeup at least.

Now I don’t use any of it. Without the employee discount, I’d rather go for something else. >_>

It’s a bad graph. Money and acne aren’t values with a fixed exchange rate. Therefore, the monetary value of the “amount of acne” removed depends on how much an individual wants to get rid of their acne. Therefore, if it is your opinion that proactiv removes more money than ance, you are simply stupid for buying it. However, other people might want to get rid of their acne more than you, so their “amount of acne” removed would be a greater slice. Perhaps even the majority. And if the “amount of acne” outweighs the “amount of money”, you should buy it.

Therefore, this graph is only true for people who have never used proactiv and did so because they found it too expensive. For everybody who did use it and likes this graph: YOU’RE A BUNCH OF WINERS!

So true. I used it for a while and it made my acne worse. I would get zits the size of dimes and really deep that were almost impossible to get rid of, and would leave a huge red scar for months after. They went away when I stopped using it about 2 years ago, and I’ve never had one since. This sounds kind of hippie or something, but I started using a Burt’s Bees tomato based soap and toner and their beeswax moisturizer. It works great, and its really really cheap. I wonder if part of my problem was chemicals. That combined with loose power mineral makeup I hardly have any problems anymore.

Thats so true, I dont even think it works for the people in the commercial… My dermatologist said that the Benzoyl Peroxide in the over the counter treatments only bleaches/irritates skin, nothing for acne. Salasylic Acid is the way to go for that… I found a 3 step better than Proactiv (IT ACTALLY WORKS, lol) *cough*Murad*cough* but its almost twice the price

Most acne medication has “benzoyl peroxide” – peroxide being a bleaching agent – and WILL in fact bleach whatever comes in contact with it. I’ve recently ruined an entire set of nice flannel sheets this way. Damn you, Clearasil!!! >_<

I actually found it extremely helpful at controlling (but not getting rid of) my acne in high school/college. But you’re absolutely right… I have a handful of towels that used to be blue and are now an interesting shade of yellow-white.
