What’s with all the “Old people = Baby” graphs?
By baby you mean ages 0-12? It’s just saying that a lot of things kids find interesting and enjoyable, older adults do as well. In this case velcro shoes.
It’s just fun noticing very striking similarities between the young and old.
No kidding.
We all know old people are comparable to babies. Lets move on. I want to see a Child/Stoner comparison.

Seriously– what’s with all the making fun of elderly people? After about 5 or 6 of these it’s getting old (no pun intended). Haven’t you ever benn told to respect the elderly?

In Japan, there is a holiday called in English, “Respect for the Aged Day”. It is a statutory holiday and everyone gets the day off work.
People here in the U.S. don’t seem to care about holidays anymore; all they care about is the ones they get off work for.

Yah I was wondering the same thing. According to the graph, it seems to be best to wear velcro shoes.
I’m 19 and wear velcro shoes. They have Tinkerbell on them.

i don’t know about this one, i think girls can get away with the velcro straps. i’ve got a pair of neon pink velcro top strap vans and i’ve been told that they are quite epic…

My work shoes, and my skydiving shoes are velcro. And I’m no were near a virgin.
So not only will you remain a virgin, but apparently other virgins are avoiding you.

Yeah I’ve got velcro shoes. Partly because I’m lazy, partly because I have a friend who likes to tie people’s shoe laces together when she’s bored. The look on her face when she realized I was wearing velcro was priceless.
So apparently, zero acceptance of velcro shoes ensures that you will stay a virgin.

Graph is wrong. Velcro is not accepted after age 6, It only comes back much later. Kids between 6-11 who have velcro shoes are probably not good at tying them and will be made fun of for this. In middle or high school the only people who wear them are either trying to be different or special needs.
I loved Velcro and corduroy because them made cool sounds, but these were not socially acceptable.

This may have been true back when you were in school, but certainly not these days. My son who is 9, and my daughter who is 7, both have New Balance’s that have the Z strap type velcro and their friends all love them. Also, I have noticed the kids who are “skaters” wearing DC’s that are velcro.

There are few things I love more than shoes, especially old-school Adidas Gazelles and high-end running shoes from Brooks and Saucony. Velcro on shoes should be illegal unless it is somehow related to the performance of the shoe in some type of sport. Lace-ups or slip-ons only. And none of those stupid slip-ons that look like lace-ups.

I would just like to add that when I was little, my mother refused to buy me velcro shoes, thinking that it’s a bad excuse to get around teaching your kid to tie her shoelaces, and I always badly envied all the kids who had them. At 31, I’m still bitter about it today. I’d love to have velcro shoes now, actually, but they dont’ make them for adults.
How much time over a lifetime does one waste tying one’s shoes? Multiply that by the number of people who tie their shoes. Considerable amount of person hours, is it not? Velcro shoes for me kiddo!
Perhaps getting some shoes with double laces would make me cool enough so that people do not notice the 80 hours a week i sink into WoW
You don’t need velcro if you just tie your shoes once, and then put them on and remove them without untying the laces.
There are always sandals too, but some sandals have velcro straps. Are velcro sandals as socially unacceptable as regular velcro shoes? The only other thing I ask is that if you’re going to wear sandals, please please PLEASE do not wear socks especially with flip flops. I just want to step on those peoples’ toes.

I LOVE velcro shoes and I am 26 and not a virgin at all! I wear girls ones that are my size but look likes mens… I WISH they would make more mens skater shoes with velcro… I think there’s nothin wrong with it!
I was all for velcro shoes going through school! Sure, most of the kids wore laces, but I just think it’s because it’s the “norm”. Seriously, I couldn’t agree more with James Rolfe: laces are BS.
For as long as I can remember, my grandfather wore velcro shoes. He called them ziplocks. When I was younger I thought they looked stupid, but as I got older I accepted them. Now I always think of him when I see velcro shoes. He was buried wearing his favorite pair. I don’t know where I’m going with this.
Obviously, this graph-maker does not know any 12-year-olds. They are in 7th grade, people. It should be 0-8=nice shoes. Gosh, can’t the world give a little credit to tweens and teenagers?
