  1. werffles says:

    Darn right.

  2. sjp87 says:

    opposite with Star Wars.

    • Me says:

Your hell as right! But with Star Wars you KNOW III is the last one but saw for all you know could go on..andon and on and on………Until they drive themselves insane/broke making them or Arrmogedon is happening in 1 hour

  3. crack says:

I don’t know. SAW XII was pretty good.

  4. I disagree, I think III and IV are worst than V, and II is so interesting. BTW I wanna see VI part.

    • Nebton says:

      Emacs beats VI, hands down.

Wait, I’m on the wrong forum, aren’t I?

      • salohcin says:

        But Butterflies beat Emacs.

        • Nebton says:

You’re forgetting, there’s an Emacs command to use butterflies…

(My previous comment is still “awaiting moderation”, so I posted again without the link.)

          • JoeMac says:

Yes, real programmers use butterflies, I don’t think anybody’s debating that (I prefer imperial Moths myself, but eh), the real issue hear is that it’s dangerous, just ask Dr. Ian Malcolm what happens when butterflies flap their wings!

  5. Deanne says:

I didn’t even know that had that many SAW’s out.

  6. S-Lizzy says:

IV was NOT as bad as everyone likes to say it was. It was at least as good as 3

  7. lol bad movies says:

I was (emphasis) a SAW fan. I when to see the first movie when it came out back in 04 and it was great. The plot twist and turns made the conclusion all the more surprising, shocking and legendarily awesome. Every single sequel after that has just been trying to milk every penny out of an original idea, but has done nothing more than sully and degrade the first film.

I beg you, America, stop seeing this terrible movies and the studios will get the clue that their cash camel is not only dead, but festering and decaying, covering the audience in little more than fermented bile.

TL; DR: First movie was good, rest sucked, stop seeing them.

  8. Barnum says:

I’ve never had the thought of eating “dog poo.” I’d almost rather have one of my nuts cut off. Of course, I’d still have three more left.

  9. Greg says:

I actually liked II more than I. But I agree that afterwards was just a big pile of disappointment.

  10. varuna says:

The same could be said about the Land Before Time movies. The first one was indeed gore-ishly awesome, after all.

  11. Shovel says:

Graph be not factual. First movie actually made LESS money at the box office than most of the sequels. Not sure about the last one.

Enjoyed the first 3, been bored stiff by the last two. 6 looks even worse.

  12. Bry says:

I actually like the third one. I think it’s really gone down hill with the release of the last two (soon to be three :| ).

  13. racheleanore says:

I like all of them and am looking forward to the next one. You people don’t have a very good appreciation for horror.

  14. Jennifer says:

I haven’t seen one Saw movie.

  15. wrong says:

Fail. I still enjoy the movies.

Someone just felt like jumping on the “lol lets haet Saw cuz it’s got so many sequels” bandwagon.

  16. D says:

I adored the first movie, I thought it was most brilliant recent horror film (when it was recent). I gave the sequels a try, and they weren’t awful, but they lacked the subtlety of the first. I mainly paid attention to the back story building on itself, since the deaths and gore were so over the top and rather ridiculous. I just rewatched the first one and I still loved it, so I certainly wouldn’t say the sequels ruined it.

  17. Grapehead says:

    Congrats, Onion. You fail.

  18. something says:

oh i love all of the movies
and if any dissneters would actually take time to watch 10 minutes of special features or behind the scenes you’d find there’s a bit more work done than just mindless gore and whoring out plot twists
they’re all great movies, and this graph is entirely for crap

    • Zoid says:

The problem with your argument is that the special features or behind the scenes are not part of the movie. They’re extra things.

  19. Waspala says:

Last time my brother called me he said he just bought all 4 or 5 SAW movies for 20 bucks. I just asked, “You think that there was a reason they were 5 for $20?”

  20. Aysu says:

theres rumoured to be a 7th one… i do believe the contract is signed for it even

  21. Basara says:

Six SAW movies was about eight too many….

  22. bababab says:

The problem with the Saw series is that no writer has the balls to end it.

  23. Just passing to say that “saw 6″ in France is said like “saucisse”, that mean “sausage”. So maybe they should have stopped at 5.

  24. kenna1313 says:

The fact that you actually go to the movies to watch people suffer and die screaming in new and bloody ways terrifies me. What does it say about us when all we are interested in is watching other people bleed. Skip it, go see something that isn’t utterly sick.

    • Devylan says:

I agree to a point. I mean Zombieland has got to be one of the greatest new cult classics. Of course, once you’re a zombie, you’re no longer a person.

      • kenna1313 says:

Hey, I’m all for satire, morbid humor has it’s place in life, but watching people suffer as realistically as possible to get your sicko rocks off is just sad.

    • A5H13Y says:

The problem comes in when you see a movie like this and automatically assume the appeal is its gore. You don’t even give the plot (which is excellent imo) a chance and come on here ranting about how people nowadays are blood-thirsty.

  25. Ryan182 says:

The whole series is all muffed…Saw 3 was more or less the actual sequel to the first movie and Saw 4 happened at the same time as Saw 3…WTF?

The first movie was hands down the best.

  26. Reanna says:

You guys are wrong. ALL these movies are garbage.

  27. doomsjay says:

With so many Saws out, it looks like a “chain” saw. ROFLMAO, I’m too awesome!

  28. Nekuyo says:

I LIKED 4 and 5… they were ridiculously confusing though. Trying to follow the time jumps and simultaneous timelines HURT.

Admittedly I liked 1 – 3 best of all though. So…. Graph is somewhat factual…. but not nearly to that scale. Rather than eat dog poo it’s more of a…. ‘would rather watch something else’.

  29. T3SK says:

saw VI in french is like sausage :D

  30. Balls says:

I like all of them and definitely seeing sixth

  31. Edward says:

Tragically, the graph is factually wrong. Obviously, there wouldn’t be five sequels and counting if the popularity of the films had fallen off that quickly. If it were retitled to “Quality of the Saw Movies…” then I would agree wholeheartedly, except I’d change the phrasing from “gorishly awesome.” It seems that in light of the horrid sequels, everybody forgets that the first one actually wasn’t that visually gory. It was kind of like the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, that way. A lot is kept out of view, and the real brutality of Saw doesn’t occur until the final moments. The psychological suspense leading up to an eventual bloody outcome is precisely why the first film was so good.

  32. Blokey says:

I beg to differ, all the films have been good in my opinion.

Plus I don’t agree with someone who doesn’t use the correct grammar when writing compared. (Compared with, NOT compared to)

  33. Stephanie says:

Are you kidding!!?? I loved all the Saw movies!!!!!!

  34. Random-Monotony says:

I completely agree with this graph. Those movies aren’t really horror, they’re movies that try to showcase as many different ways to torture and kill humans as they possibly can while maybe adding some “plot” to tie it together. Whatever happened to horror that didn’t rely on blood and gore? I’d take the psychological brand of horror over gore any day.

    • A5H13Y says:

Have you seen Saw VI? Especially the carousel trap was extremely psychological.
      SPOLIERS AHEAD:
The entire point was not “oh sick! people getting shot!!!!” Rather it is all about being forced to choose who lives and who dies, which actually does tie into AN ACTUAL PLOT extremely well.

  35. A5H13Y says:

Eh, I’ve got to say I don’t completely agree :)

    Saw 1 – best
    3 – awesome
    2 – crazy good
    6 – woo! it’s getting good again
    4 – :( they’re ruining it
    5 – D:

  36. Zia says:

    Excluding Twilight…LOL

  37. Your Mom says:

What about Saw: The Final Chapter?
    What’s with the exclusion?
