I now understand why Firsters do what they do, at least from a philosophical point of view. It can be akin to Neil Armstrong taking his first step on the moon, though not as important.
Arriving there, and finding that not only is no one there with you, but no one has been there before you as well. Pristine, untouched, wanting to scream out in joy at the beauty that lays before you but fearing to disturb it. So an admission is made, a statement, kept both short and sweet, to help remind you of what you saw, knowing that it will never be that way ever again.
Never at peace with itself, it possibilities stretching out far past any man or woman’s capacity to think, each step being made there forever changing what is was, and never for the better.
So you fight for it, stand against the people, taking their ire, their hatred, whether it be born out of jealousy, intolerance, or ignorance, and say what it all means to be alive, in one simple word:

Wait, something is wrong with this graph. How would the power requirement increase when the DeLorean was going faster? AFAIK, it was always 1.21 GW of power; they just had to hit at least 88mph before the wormhole would open to the destination time.
I always assumed, in my mind, that the faster you went the less power was needed to keep the wormhole open for the DeLorean to get through.
Faster than 88 mph? In a DeLorean? Preposterous!
That is why you haven’t achieved time travel.
Suppose the flux capacitor act’s in a similar way to a regular capacitor, you get a graph.
