Dogs don’t die.
Old Yeller got babies.
The End
I hate seeing dogs die in movies… especially I Am Legend
i had the hardest time trying to stop the tears from rolling down my face…that made me cry so bad (i had an awesome german shepherd that past away that year)
Great. Ruined that movie for me! I haven’t gotten to see it yet!
That’s not the whole movie, though. It’ll still be worth your time.
marley and me is even sadder
what a shame.
haha its been out for what, like 2, almost three years? and second the books better.
I grew up around German Shepherds and that’s what made it even sadder
But not to the point where I was bawling my eyes out. Still brought a tear to my eye.
I was Balling in I am legend …… poor puppy..
You were balling? Were you also shot calling? Sorry, I couldn’t resist.
Shaziinngg! XD good one
Why thank you.
it is spelled bawling
If you must correct someone’s grammar, then consider beginning your sentence with a capitol letter, and ending with a period. It will make you sound smarter!
If you must correct someone’s punctuation, then consider correctly spelling the words you employ to do so. “Capitol” changes the meaning, so it would be “…consider beginning your sentence with a [the seat of the U.S. Congress in Washington, D.C.] letter” rather than the meaning you obviously tried to convey: “consider beginning your sentence with a [large in size and of the form used to begin sentences and names] letter.
This will make you sound smarter AND make you a non-hypocrite!
C-C-C-C[cap]ombo breaker[/cap]!
I know! I wasn’t going to watch that film when I was told the dog died… I did eventually and it was so hard not to cry in the middle of a crowded aeroplane…
I’m getting images of COD 4….
you mean 5.
in WaW, you get attacked my german shepards loads.
especially in “vendetta”.
lol… german shepards… in CoD WaW
SPOILER ALERT!
that was a good movie except when the dog died the first time i cried and i also didn’t look.
if i made the chart i would put “cat” instead of “dog” cus im a cats person but it is kinda sad to see a cute animal die in movies or in real life.
cat*
Hahahaha, only cute animals deserve pity from you.
What’s a “Chracter”?
You know, a white person.
or sometimes a white person with makeup to be a black person.
SEcond
I envy you, I watched District 9 and cringe during the action parts.
Didn’t a cat get killed by The Blob in the 80′s remake?
no one cares if a cat dies
Let’s not forget about “I Am Legend”, either.
oh, we haven’t. ^^^
I think it was the 70′s movie.

Ugh! I totally agree with this graph, but with any animal.
That scene where dude kills the cat in Boondock Saints ruined the entire movie for me. It sucks because that movie was an epic win otherwise.
thankfully my boyfriend knew to warn me not to watch that part. lol
haha that was hilarious
BOOM cat splattered across the wall
if you thought that was sad there’s something wrong with you.
random cat lying around for 1 scene and you get emotionally attached to it.
that’s like beyond emo

I hate cats and wouldn’t mind to see more die
Sounds like Gummo is the movie for you.
Really? The dog dying in “snakes on a plane” was hilarious. Tell me you didn’t laugh.
THANKS A FRICKIN` LOT.
You have no idea how much I`ve tried to forget that scene.
Poor puppy
)`:
Really. You find dying hilarious, and you call yourself sane.
thts kinda dumb
second only to Old Yeller is when Hooch Dies in Turner and Hooch. It broke my heart.
I lost my beloved poodle Charlie last May and it just about killed me. I have his ashes on my bookcase and not a day goes by that I don’t think of him he was a turner and hooch just such a lovable pooch just bought another poodle and he is a real sweetheart, he would like to kiss your face and give you a big hug. Claudia
True… true…
I always feel bad for the dog (or cat or bird …) but I’m fine with humans being killed in awful ways.
my family always makes fun of me when I feel bad for the dog.. made me think I was the only one..
This applies to books, too, IMO.
I agree! We had to read a book for English last year and it involved about 3 dead dogs and it made me strangely distressed… then this year we read a book about another dead dog… I think someone in the English department hates animals.
My whole family was in dribbling, face-reddening tears when the dog died in I Am Legend.
And we’re always sniffly when dogs die in movies, so we just… stopped watching dog movies. My Dog Skip, Marley & Me, etc. We don’t watch them any more.
No animals were harmed in the making of this graph.
Me asking somebody about a movie when I know there’s a dog in it: “Does the dog die?”
“Yeah.”
“Won’t watch it.”
Very true graph, I was sad when the dog in The Road Warrior died.
I almost cried at the end of The Watchmen. T^T
And Old Yeller… And Birds, too! And how the owner was talking to Marley at the end of Marley and Me… That was evewrything I wanted to say to my dog Bailey when he was dying, but I was crying too much.
R.I.P Bailey Claus
My cousin was in the Marines. He said that the last week of boot camp they pulled out Old Yeller to see who still had the emotion to cry at the end. I guess they wanted to make sure they didn’t make them too emotionless when confronted with death.
Nick Memphis “you cant take on these people, they’ll kill you”
Bob Lee Swagger “I have to”
Nick Memphis “but its suicide”
Bob Lee Swagger “you dont understand, they killed my dog!”
fookin a!!! book or movie, though?
Where the Red Fern Grows, anyone?
no kidding. I almost never cry, and I almost lost it completely at the end of the book.
DEAN SPANLEY!
I was fully in tears over that. i was bawling my eyes out,
and fully embarrassed my mother in the cinema
Wag was one of the 7 best dogs
people have more pitty of dogs t. humans
discusting
the word is “disgusting”, and i disagree. people are horrible, but dogs are wonderful.
I almost started crying when the old guy in Up called Dug a bad dog!
YOU STOLE MY BRAIN apols for the all caps. But me too – never watch single white female – she kills a puppy :’(
I don’t cry for movie dogs, but whenever the ASPCA commercials come on TV, I lose it.
marly and me was totally depressing
Can I add House Elf to that list? Dobbys death was friggen sad!
What about Marley in Marley and Me? I almost didn’t watch that movie when I found out about the ending.
Me during (main) deaths in The Green Mile:
Del: Eh, he was weird anyway.
John: *sad face*
Mr. Jingles: (Del’s mouse. Stepped on by Percy.) NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Not Mr. Jingles!!!!!!! My favorite character!!!!! *collapses in sobbing heap*
Me during the end of Marley and Me: *sob attack* (That’s the only movie I’ve ever cried at. And I cried HARD. For like, 5 minutes straight.)
Yeah I have a thing for animals. :]
However, I admit that I did cry when my favorite (non animal) character died in my favorite book. I’ve now read it 3 times. Cried every time. I don’t take death well… -.-
Haha.
hey i didnt cry at marly and me. that movie was so rubbish
Thats how I feel. people will die and Im like oh well, sometimes even laughing my ass off. But when the pet, or any animal dies, teardrops will fall
In “Something About Mary” I was in tears when the poor pooch went over “to the other side” -it was jjust so wrong
Watch “24 eyes” (Nijushi no hitomi) and you will never cry over another death after that.
You’ll use up all your tears.
so true. i cried like a baby in 8 below
planet terror anyone?
i always tear up (at least) a little when an animal dies in a movie D:!
well…if they’ve been around. they’re usually the coolest movie characters.
and also… i cried when sirius black died :3 and when dumblee-dore died.
*favorites*
(im sure plenty of people know those two died by now so shush -_-)
anyways.
nice graph ? :O
What is wrong with all of us?!! Even i get all teary when dogs die!
Geeez!! We don’t have empathy for our own kind! I mean i was laughing hard when i saw the ‘Inglorious Basterds’ scalping the Nazis…Well actually that IS funny…and it gave me a nice warm feeling..
Also Passion Of the Christ was quite emotional for me…
NOBODY CRIED WHEN THE BIRDS HEAD FELL OFF IN DUMB AND DUMBER *caps lock off*
In Marley And Me I was so sad at the end that i started playing ds to calm down
This is supposed to be a bar graph.
Excellent!! My thoughts exactly and eerily reminiscent of a conversation I had not long ago.
This is exactly why I hated Independace Day so much. If it was my movie, THE GODDAMN DOG WOULD HAVE DIED.
Same thing with 2012.
Screw you, Emmerich.
What was the question?
This is actually a great deal of use in the movie “What just happend?” With ROBERT DE NIRO yearh!
by far the worst dog death in a movie is marley and me. end of story.
Best example (although it’s a tv show, not a movie):
Sonic X.
Season 3.
Episodes 77&78.
Saddest part of Sonic EVAR.
cats too *sniff sniff* when I watched ‘Adams apples’
You’ve NEVER read The Hunger Games, have you? Try not crying when ***spoiler*** Rue dies
