  1. Varkaad says:

    First Blood!

  2. bodo says:

Even as a Cafilnorian this seems pretty accurate to me…wait, there’s another city there, I think…I’ll think of it…I’ll get there…hold on…Carson City! Am I right? Do I win anything?

The only part I don’t understand is how that guy from Queer Eye got his own city.

    • Annie says:

I think most people know about Reno as wel lol. I grew up in Lake Tahoe and can still probably name you ten cities in Nevada (and most of them are known as “um, the town with the Subway?”)

    • OhNoes says:

Hmm. Admittedly, I’m not part of your united states, but I’ve never heard of the state Cafilnoria. Is it new? Because I was almost positive that California bordered Nevada.

  3. Outback Jon says:

But, where in Las Vegas is CSI?

  4. deadinfrance says:

OMG this is soo right! Thanks for the great laugh!

  5. Cecona says:

you forgot Reno. Everyone should know about Reno due to Reno 911

  6. Caoimhe says:

Also forgot a hazy patch labled ‘Area 51′ :)

  7. Carolee says:

Wish there was some way the right way to say Nevada could have been incorporated into this.

  8. amarcy says:

That is so true. The other frustration is that I live in Reno and when people visit Las Vegas who have the sense of geography of the post they say “You should come see us in Vegas” as though it is 40 miles away, not 400.

  9. Stephen says:

    Brothels

    • notawhore says:

Vegas great big, yes. And then the whole state should be labeled cheating internet whores who try to steal your man while lying to you about it. I used to really like songstresses until Melissa from Nevada strolled into my life. The absolute worst person I’ve ever virtually met.

  10. jhimm says:

Limiting this to just East Coasters is fail.

  11. Sprite101 says:

Really? I thought the whole thing was desert other than Vegas… which is also desert.

  12. ... says:

Nobody cares about your crappy desert state. Cry about it.

  13. crack says:

This is wrong. Nevada is known for many things. At least half the graph should have been US Nuclear Testing Grounds.

  14. bodo says:

Wait, is this graph implying there’s something in Nevada besides Vegas?

C’mon, there’s nothing in Cafilnoria besides LA, right? Ask anyone in Idaho. Or Texas. Maybe Utah…oh, and…well, ok, the area that isn’t Cafilnoria or the Northeast part of the US or Hawaii…just ask ‘em.

  15. Sharon says:

Also Reno and Vegas should be right next to each other on this map.

    • StarShipDelta says:

Yup. I live in Reno, and people all act like Reno and Vegas are sister cities…like ‘where’s the best hotels in Reno? Next time I go to Vegas I’ll just stay in Reno instead and walk over’….

Yeah, good luck with that. Have fun in the hundreds of miles of desert….

  16. trogdor says:

i live in nevada and you know on the graph that says never heard of it.
    theres areason
because there is nothing there! lol.
well you did forget reno, i mean i can see not knowing sparks or elko or yerinton but reno kinda popular.

  17. Christopher says:

Coming from an East Coaster, yeah, pretty much.

  18. Jon says:

I live in Vegas, and other than here and Reno and its glorious meth labs, the IS NOTHING IN NEVADA. Those are literally the only two metropolitan areas. And yes, the good side of Lake Tahoe IS in California. Oh and we have half of the Hoover Dam and some nuclear testing sites.. which means we share those claims to fame with Arizona.

  19. Alex says:

That’s really stupid, Nevada=Desert. Everybody here knows that. That lake I never heard of, and none who isn’t in USA cares about it. So funck it.

  20. Kelly says:

nevada according to everyone who isn´t from nevada. just like new york is manhattan island to everyone who isn´t from new york, and california is la and san fran.

  21. Ilove2learn says:

    Seriously?
NO AREA 51?! YOU CAN’T HAVE A GRAPH LIKE THIS WITHOUT MENTIONING AREA 51!!
If this can be considered a graph. I guess it could….Someone help me out here?

  22. katie says:

Everyone forgot about Wendover. That tiny place where those from
    Utah can get real beer..

  23. bekitty says:

    Wait, where’s Black Rock City?

  24. Kevin says:

You forgot that mountain they were going to store all of the spent nuclear fuel rods in.

  25. e says:

Plenty of people in Las Vegas think the same way, LOL – there’s Vegas, and then there’s just a bunch of desert.

*and as an aside – all the states that PRODUCE nuclear garbage can keep it, thanks, we really don’t need your trash here. Sad that Nevada doesn’t even use nuclear energy and all it’s by-products are going to end up leaking out all over here.

    • NativeNevadan says:

Thank you for saying that about Yucca Mountain! I wish more people around the US understood what we as native born and transplanted residents have to put up with, we don’t need any more of their garbage (nuclear or not).

      • Karst says:

You know, you really ought to learn something about the geology of the place, the process they want to use, and then really melt your noggin and realize how much money they can make.

It’s still cleaner than coal and less destructive than major dam systems, and until you can come up with a better idea this is what we’ve got.

  26. J says:

    So true.
There are people who even come to Reno and still have no idea that they’re nowhere near Vegas.

  27. Hollowcaust says:

Okay, guys. Stop thinking too hard. This whole thing was a joke. :P

  28. nyo says:

Not just east coasters. People from Europe too.

Altough I did know that Carson city existed.

  29. Vegas Native says:

A lot of people from outside Vegas think that Vegas is ONLY the strip. and that most of the community that makes up my fine city are bussed in from Cali. Thus according to this map, 75% of Nevada is the strip, Reno does not exist, The government got to the map maker before he revealed the location of area 51 and the nuclear testing facilities, Goodman and Reid got to the map maker to wipe Yucca Mountain off the map, the largest(? IDK if it still is) solar array in the country, Nevada Solar 1, no longer exists out side of Boulder City, which was also forgotten, Lake Mead, the largest reservoir in the country, no longer exists, and never mind Hoover Dam.
    Yep, pretty accurate….LMAO

  30. tadpole says:

The only reason people know Carson City exists is because of that movie with Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson.

  31. Fuzzalina says:

Where’s the nuclear testing site? I always thought that was most of the state of Nevada (I’m from California).

    • NativeNevadan says:

Roughly 100 miles north of Las Vegas, Look for Rachel, NV on Google Earth and then just scan around for all the visible craters. You can’t miss it.

  32. Basara549 says:

Don’t forget the Ponderosa, for us old farts that remember “Bonanza”.

  33. I says:

actually, I probably know more about Nevada than you do *cough cough* iliveinmassachusstes *cough cough* it’sthenameofmycat *cough cough* istudieditinschool *cough cough*

  34. Avnas says:

You forgot Area 51. I’m not even in the US and I know that Area 51 is in Nevada.

Also, I have never heard of Lake Tahoe.

  35. 1ManArmy says:

Where is Area 51???? Worst graph EVER!!!!
