- We don’t have places so violent that it isn’t safe to walk the streets at night. Murder is so rare that if it happens it’s national news.
- We have legal prostitutes.
- We have Heineken beer
- We do have freedom of religion but we don’t have religious protesters, amish, crazed sects and people claiming to be the new Messiah. We also have far less Jehovah’s witnesses.
- We have faster internet connections

Answers to some people:
It costs a lot in taxes, but most of us still have to pay less then Americans because rich people have to pay more. (at least that is the idea)
The advantage is that you don’t need to have a medical subscription here, so you don’t have to get cancer first (southpark reference)
And no, i don’t think it is a good thing people get payed for sitting on their buts but the idea is that nobody in our country has to live without a home, food or TV.

I work at McDonalds, and I’m 25 years old. Trying to save money to get some college in, not that it will help since there are no jobs anyway. So all you haters go work at McDonald’s and deal with people like yourselves for 8 straight hours and tell me how easy my job is

Besides “where are the napkins?” (they’re over on the garbage cans, but no one ever seems to notice) and “I’ll have a ham and swiss BLT” (the listing of sandwiches has the BLT under the Ham and Swiss, but most customers don’t seem to understand that means they’re separate sandwiches), the stupidest thing I hear at work is “sure” when asking a customer if they want Chocolate or Caramel drizzle on their Ice Capp Supreme.

I think that most people don’t seem to even register that they’re in a restaurant until they’re actually at the counter.

I got into a BA program now and trying to get an office temp position, but they’ve been putting through all these filters to make sure I can perform basic tasks and be mentally capable of putting on some khakis and a polo shirt in the morning, even though the awful warehouse/factory jobs i’ve been doing required many times the energy, quick thinking, prudence, punctuality.

That’s my story, I agree with you that this is not fair. The thing is that people with “skills” (i.e. Undergrad degree minimum) command much more money for their time, it’s not about how hard you work, it’s what you can do and what that’s worth to “them.” My point is that no, as Josh said it’s not worth it to pay more than minimum wage to (for example) McDonald’s cooks, but people should really not judge/disrespect other people of lower “station” like you described.
