That has always been my reaction to those commercials. It’s just a robe, but with no zipper or anything (or does it have one? I don’t really know, but I’m pretending to know what I’m talking about LoL), so a robe is actually more practical most of the time.

No, a “nightgown” is what you actually sleep in. A “dressing gown” or “robe” is the thing you wrap around yourself over what you sleep in, either to keep warm or, if you wear really revealing pajamas, to cover yourself if you don’t like your mother-in-law to see you in your lingerie.

I have a slanket, which is a product that the snuggie is a ripoff of. For those asking about robes and dressing gowns, they’re not long enough to huddle under. I love my slanket. I’m a knitter, and when it’s cold, I can huddle under a blanket and keep my arms and shoulders covered while I knit without it constantly falling off. Folks can make fun if they will, but it’s super handy.
