The women i find “most” attractive are Irish and Scottish. I suppose i should say “women of Celtic ancestry” where ever they were born. Irish/Scottish accents help though… even though i wouldn’t know the difference(?) as to which is which unless it’s pointed out to me.

Other than the Welsh post a ways back and the general country vs country sniping on here, what got me to thinking on this so much recently was a Valentine’s Day commercial that includes a beautiful redhead complete with the perky nose that i think of as Celtic.

I also love Celtic music… some of it anyways. Usually more modernized versions like from Enya, but also some of the more traditional, but it goes a lot deeper than that. To me, it’s like it’s natural… music that has always been there… somebody just had to discover it and play it.

Perhaps my own ancestry has something to do with it. Though it seems most of my folks from way back came before the Revolutionary War, which makes it a bit hard to identify just where in Britain “they” came from, much of the early settlers here were Irish or Scottish… and the shape of the “family nose” seems to agree.

I just wanted to point out that though i was really disappointed not long after i got on the internet at how countries i thought were America’s friends (and not so distant relatives) and by extension, my friends and relatives in general, seem to hate US… that even with that, i’m still attracted to the “old country” and people… or at least some of it.

Hey, I’ve NEVER said that there aren’t adorable non-redhead ladies in Europe either! That i know for a fact!

ok, so that’s about women, but as for a couple thoughts about the guys..

Though i’m not a drinker myself, if i was to get a notion to visit a “pub” (which would to me mean traveling overseas) I imagine some place in the Highlands and my best drinking buddy having red hair (and likely beard too). Or.. down by the sea someplace in Ireland and an outburst of “ARRRRR!” ever now and then. LOL does anyone over there actually say that? Maybe it’s just my childhood fascination with old movies about past days of sailing.. and Simpsons.

Around these parts, the plural of “you” is “you all or ya’ll” not “yous” …nor “mates” lol

If i go a while without talking to a Canadian, then hear them speak, i keep thinking i’ve missed a question when they get to the “eh?”.

Is it just the English or Brits in general that start so many of their sentences with “Right”..? What’s that all about? lol One guy (mate?) from London that i sometimes talk to does generally tend to leave right after he starts a sentence with it though. It seems to make no difference what i had just said or if he was last to speak beforehand. Suddenly he says “Right” then i’ve learned to say “Ok, see ya next time” before he gets out his excuse for leaving. LOL

Here’s an idea or 2.

take over a large country (so you will have room for larger population), maybe Canada being as they aren’t so densely populated (except along border with US). Then become rich and have lots of TV shows and at least a few international celebs upon which other countries will base their like/hate of you. Also a big military will do wonders.. no matter if you use it to help OR take over other countries. Export some sort of food/drink and make it famous throughout the world, but it must mention something Welsh… oops, nevermind, we already did Welsh’s foodstuff over here :\

It might be easier to take over the continent of Antarctica than Canada though and you won’t have to worry about developing an “eh?” on the end of your sentences, but on the other hand, i hear it’s a few degrees colder down there and that may affect your accents even more.. which would defeat the whole project i suppose.

There are so many things wrong with your statement. Noone claims the UK doesn’t have it’s shady past. It’s just that the rest of the Western world sure seems to be in a hurry to forget their own when they bring their hatred to the UKs door. Why YES, France and America, I AM looking at you.
