Nobody wants that kind of commitment

butthurt much? im sure u wanted that first, try again next time!

        • DepRac says:

As a “Pom” I take particular disrespect at being called “Whingin’.” First; We are WINNING the ashes series 1-0. And Two, the shortening of the word was unnesescary.

  2. elise says:

Why is it ok to be racist towards the british? iIm asking seriously, someone raised the question on qi, and i was just wondering if anyone had an opinion. Pretty funny chart; i’m australian, though not a lot of people I know say mate. Buddy I get a bit. I say buddy to adults and mate to kids. I’m just rambling, sorry. Ta!

    • roygbiv says:

it’s not. i thought about it too, but meh… there always be some kind of hate one way or another. no point sweating about it… it’s GJ after all, trying to reason with people on here proves to be as effective as asking a rock to be soft most of the time.

    • Poop says:

Because Brits are considered privileged and powerful, not an oppressed minority.

      • lolo says:

        bwhahahaha!

sorry, just the idea of (any sort of majority of) the British being “privileged and powerful”.

        • Poop says:

What a very entitled thing to say!

        • boaks says:

Obviously you haven’t been to any developing country, then.

          • thejadefalcon says:

Ha! We ARE a developing country. We’re trying to develop the nerve to kick out the illegal immigrants who are screwing up the country. To do that, we need to develop the guts to destroy Parliament and replace it with people who actually give a toss about Britain.

I also second the “Why is it not racist if it’s against the British?” Not regarding this graph, but just the world in general. if a white British man insults a Pakistani ZOMG RACIST! But if it’s the other way around the reaction is ‘It’s just a harmless joke.’ Equality FTW?

      • Sloth says:

Privileged and powerful? Wow… you’re looking either at the wrong country mate or the wrong era. Perhaps you were aiming for America? Or maybe the days of the British Empire.

        You KNOB.

    • Czernobog says:

Because Brits are pretty much responsible for most of the armed conflicts in most of the undeveloped world. Brits should actually be happy that the Americans came along.

      • Poop says:

Yeah, uncanny how the Americans solved all those conflicts, didn’t supply arms and weren’t instrumental in establishing those conflicts with Britain in the first place…

      • Sloth says:

        AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

      • Sloth says:

        *wipes tears of laughter away*

Aaah. Oh wait you weren’t kidding? Shame, it would have made a good joke. Especially with the history of the US funding the IRA and continuing to trade with the Nazis well into the second world war.

There are so many things wrong with your statement. Noone claims the UK doesn’t have it’s shady past. It’s just that the rest of the Western world sure seems to be in a hurry to forget their own when they bring their hatred to the UKs door. Why YES, France and America, I AM looking at you.

    • jl5691426 says:

Considering that the British and (non-Aboriginal)Australians are the same race, I’m not sure it’s appropriate to call this racism. I’m sure the American perception that all Aussies say “mate” frequently is Steve Irwin’s legacy. I’d like to see this graph’s author do one on the use of “crikey.”

    • Fez says:

Last I checked… British was not a ‘race’.

      • Poop says:

So what are the ‘races’ in humans then?

        • goingbankrupt says:

Races are ethnicities- such as Asian, Caucasian, African, etc. You are confusing race with nationality- such as Canadian, British, Australian, Indian…

          • josh says:

Actually race and ethnicity are two completely different things.
Race-Black, White, Asian, Native American, etc.
            Ethnicity-Is your cultural background i.e. Non-Hispanic/Latino, or Hispanic/Latino

            • Nash says:

Well, biologically, race is a pretty arguable concept on the whole.

            • Ossario and Duster says:

Anthropologists long ago discovered that humans’ physical traits vary gradually, with groups that are close geographic neighbors being more similar than groups that are geographically separated. This pattern of variation, known as clinal variation, is also observed for many alleles that vary from one human group to another. Another observation is that traits or alleles that vary from one group to another do not vary at the same rate. This pattern is referred to as nonconcordant variation. Because the variation of physical traits is clinal and nonconcordant, anthropologists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries discovered that the more traits and the more human groups they measured, the fewer discrete differences they observed among races and the more categories they had to create to classify human beings. The number of races observed expanded to the 30s and 50s, and eventually anthropologists concluded that there were no discrete races (Marks, 2002). Twentieth and 21st century biomedical researchers have discovered this same feature when evaluating human variation at the level of alleles and allele frequencies. Nature has not created four or five distinct, nonoverlapping genetic groups of people.

              • heidrance says:

My philosophy prof at University had this theory that races were “created” to justify killing, conquering, and enslaving other people in a Judeo-Christian ethic. As in “We’re Christians – we can’t kill people.” “Well, maybe they’re not the same kind of people as us.” “Oh, okay – let’s go get ‘em!”

                • Devylan says:

It’s not just a Christian concept, by-the-way. Look at the radical Muslims, for instance. Also, it wasn’t an original theory your professor had.

              • Devylan says:

So this response is full of fascinating information, but for us laymen, will you please spell it out in plainer English? Thank you.

              • Sloth says:

This is really interesting! And really underlines how nationality and race as concepts are so groundless scientifically.

There was some research a while back that discovered that there is more genetic diversity in small group of gorillas than there is in the entire human race.

        • Sophie:) says:

I thought it was the HUMAN race.

    • tara says:

‘British’ is not a race, but that point aside – it could be because the British tossed a bunch of criminals on an island and BAM! Australia. So they kinda have the ability to get away with that kinda thing, lol.

    • DrSolar says:

I always thought the Australia/Britain thing is a bit more like warring siblings, we’re so similar at times we fight to make distance. Deep down we understand beer and sport and share a general dislike of the Americans

      Disclosure: I’m British

      • Zephr says:

Really? I thought Australians and Americans were united by our common disdain for the British bastards that screwed us both over. Although maybe they’ve never forgiven us for Crocodile Dundee. I could hardly blame them for that.

(Please note that I don’t actually hate the British.)

        • Kittah Noir says:

Rofl, hardly. Americans left by choice, we Aussies were chucked out… yet we seem to harbour less resentment!

It’s weird, but I’ve noticed something with news coverage of natural disasters. America – looting, killing, everyone grabbing everything for themselves. Aussies, on the other hand, band together and help everyone out. But we’re the ones descended from crims! Even I’ve got a bushranger in my ancestry.

(BTW he was crap, and apparently got killed really quickly, but hey)

        • Jonny s says:

i dont get why anyone hates anyone, its not like the people alive now actually did anything to eachother. it was generations ago so why does anyone care, also if you go back far enough we are all from the group of humans anyway so everyone at some point has screwed everyone else over if you are using ‘we’ to describe you and every australian who has ever lived.

      • loldanza says:

i thought the Australians liked us Brits. Obviously not.

        • Sola Topee says:

We love youse guys. Seriously, though, I like the Brits I meet – and let’s not have a new level of feuding starting by something someone read in the comments section of a site about funny graphs :-) .

      • Aussie! says:

yeah, we Aussies always complain about the pommy bastards, but really, they hate America as much as we do (which is an absolute s*it load), and we respect them for that :) and we do all like getting off our faces haha

way i see it, England is like the older sibling who pays out Australia who is the middle sibling and New Zealand is the baby of the family, which the middle child always pays out.

Aussies always pay out the Kiwis *insert joke about sheep* but as soon as any other country pays them out, Australians will jump to thier defense, i have seen this on countless occasions, its halerious watching sepo (Septic tank = Yank) made jokes about kiwis fall flat while Aussies death glare them haha!

        • silv3r says:

DAMN STARIGHT, i have a 2 kiwi mates, and if anyone bags on them, i shut them down, but im the first to make the sheep jokes

    • Redneck_Rebel says:

Because British people as a whole are the biggest snobs on the face of this earth. There are exceptions but they don’t change the rule.

      • loldanza says:

thats a stereotype. i hate tea. and i dont talk wiv posh accent.

      • pepe le pu says:

        what about ze french?

      • Tioka12 says:

Excuse me, have you met every single british person on this earth? No? didn’t think so, so keep your mouth shut, moron

      • AngryScot says:

hehe. You make me laugh with your ignorance. I believe you are thinking of the stereotypical ENGLISH PERSON, when British actually means someone from Britain (Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are there too you know). You find me a Scottish Snob. Besides, the British essentially built the western world, so they’re allowed a little bit of snobbery towards the underclass =P

      • vxj says:

        Have you BEEN to Liverpool???

      • Saraa. says:

FS! I wish people would stop referring to England as Britain!

    • marxz says:

      racist? nooo …. culturalist? … maybe….
but like my fellow Italian Australians and Greek Australians have co-opted the “wog” word, most English here are self described “Poms” “whinging poms” and “pommy bastards”….
I’m left feeling underprivileged that, as a 3rd generation Australian, the only cultural epithet I’ve ever had thrown at me was “skippy” … and, lets face it, as epithets go “skippy” is pretty lame… “ocka” and “aussie” don’t really count as they are ockaisms themselves.

    • Honesty says:

Its ok for australians to be racist to the english in teh same sense that chris brown can be racist to black people. Australians are part of the commonwealth and the queen rules our country almost equivalently to the way she rules over there. therefore, we are one and the same, therefore making it ok for aussies to occasionally be ‘racist’ to the english. :) kthnxbye!

    • Erik says:

They’re not a different ethnic group. The Brits. I mean, most of us, Brits, Nordics, Germans, Americans, Australians have the same genetic make up (or whatever it’s called.) So, how can it be racist of an Australian to comment on the British people?

    • teddybrrr says:

notice how the graph said WHINGING poms? you just proved his point. take a joke mate, this sort of “racism” has been a joke between the poms and aussies for ages.

  3. Poop says:

    Stop whinging, mate!

  4. Ninjinister says:

Where’s the slice of pie for “Americans that just happen to use the word ‘mate’ for buddy or chum?”

    • Andrea says:

Agreed! Just cause I’m American doesn’t mean I don’t call my friends “mate.” Mind you, I attribute this to having too many British, Aussie, and Kiwi friends since I was young.

  5. Katherine says:

I find that graph very offensive.
    Jerk.

    • Me says:

I find your post very offensive.

      • Points Giver says:

        +450 points.

I gave extra to excuse my own bias against the British. It’s not a political thing… more like… an aesthetic, cultural thing. Rule Britannia! British people hurt me where it hurts most: my eyes, my tongue, my stomach, and my ears. I think the Queen is AWESOME.

  6. moi says:

i don’t make fun of accents, i find them quite sexy and attractive actually…

    • Jadeder says:

      ditto

    • Ela13 says:

      Me too… especially Australian ones…

    • SlamChowder says:

I do too. I love accents from Australia and Britain. I’d say mate to my friends but I don’t want to be seen as an American who’s just saying it to mock the Australians when I’m not.

    • itwasadarkandstormynight says:

I’m American and love British, Australian, and Canadian accents.
Just out of curiosity, do any of you non-Americans like our accent as much as we like yours? Because I’ve heard some say American accents are hot, while others say they make us sound stupid.

      • Tioka12 says:

Im from britian, I love american accents :)

      • Aussie! says:

NO!!! american accents make me want to punch them out! i don’t know anbody who can stand the accents, they are not hot and do make you sound stupid! they are ugly and repulsive

      • Sophie:) says:

I’m Scottish (which means I’m British for those who beleive that Britain is another word for England) and I love listening to my American Grandad talking. So no I don’t find them hot because it’s my Grandad but I lve listening to them :)

      • griffin says:

heh sometimes I don’t even realise someone’s speaking with an american accent, and when i do i either find it highly amusing, quite sexy or it makes me want to shout SHUT UP! Or I ask ‘Is that person american…?’ I get very strange looks after that… but i do like them ^_^

  7. Spencer says:

    Isn’t a Kiwi a fruit and a bird?

  8. Kate says:

    A kiwi?

  9. Steve Irwin says:

    Crikey a sting ray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. jenisist says:

    hahaha was up mate?

  11. Nathan says:

Hey! We’re not making fun of your accent; nearly all Americans LOVE the Aussie accent. Most of us are just terrible at imitating accents and many choose unfortunate moments to make a terrible attempt.

  12. Dhrekz says:

I find this offensive, and I’m not surprised Americans make fun of your accent *mate*

  13. tea-bagger says:

haha this is an excellent graph! one that will go down in time as the most profound thing to ever come out of australia!

    • Kittah Noir says:

Well considering the other thing we’re most well known for is Steve Irwin, that sounds about right.

(Sorry to break your hearts, Americans, but most Aussies couldn’t stand him)

  14. tbp says:

I say mate, im british (scottish) and i dont say it to make fun of anybodies accent xP

  15. Yuval says:

    What??? no pirates?

  16. Novawolf says:

    I love kiwis :D

  17. Devylan says:

i have never in my life said, “mate,” until now. it’s too bad you’re giving a bad name to your fellow “Aussies,” b/c i don’t think us Americans really ever had a problem with y’all.

    • Kelly says:

i´ve seen people do the same thing with southerners in the us. unfortunately, we tend to associate all southern accents with stupidity.

      • Me says:

        You must be a Yankee.

        • Zephr says:

Or from the west coast. Or the mid-west. Or anywhere else that isn’t the south, really.

I’ve met some really cool and intelligent people from the south, but the region doesn’t generally have the greatest image.

          • Me says:

What region does have a good image, particularly when one points out only the negative aspects? The west coast is predominated by California, a liberal hotbed that is on the brink of financial disaster because they can’t afford their socially-biased budgets. Midwest – ass-backward farmers or rust belt? Northeast – Bronx? New Jersey?

        • :-/ says:

Hey, I live in southern Alabama and I agree with him/her.

      • Devylan says:

Kelly, I didn’t take offense to your remark at all. Since you said, “unfortunately,” I knew you weren’t trying to call me stupid for using the term “y’all.” One time, my dad was a foreman on a construction site up north somewhere (perhaps Michigan), and he said, “y’all,” and one of his smart-a** subordinates asked him what “y’all” meant, and he said, “Y’all is everybody but me!” Lol! I love my dad.

      • itwasadarkandstormynight says:

I’m from Illinois and I love southern accents. I pretty much love any accent besides mine, actually. ;)

  18. Kelly says:

for the record, most americans find the australian accent very hot! maybe it´s just dudes who are jealous that you are going to get all that american tail.

  19. patrick says:

    quite true mate

  20. connor says:

Do i need to bring up the ashes? XD

  21. lolzalotamus says:

whingin’ pommie bastards! you’ve given me the best new name to call people…also its hilarious how many people are trying to make serious discussion out of this, people even make fun of each other in their own social heirarchies (sp?) so why is it surprising that we make fun of other nations? So from my ignorant cowboy beer drinkin american ass, to your bumbling animal rustlin beer drinkin aussie ass, cheers mate!

    • Morne says:

Yeah but… you might just want to be careful who you call a “whingin’ pommie bastard.” It’s not exactly polite. :D

  22. Sandgirl says:

    Mmmm… kiwi blokes are hot… ^^

  23. tomissus says:

Someones pissed off about the ashes

  24. Tioka12 says:

Im confused…. didn’t the english actually discover America?

  25. paul whitbec says:

lol i am american and that is still funny. I hate typical fatass americans

  26. jeebers says:

i like kiwis and puppies too

  27. Kittah Noir says:

I have a friend who calls his wife “mate”, and I tease him endlessly about it. When he’s ont he phone, I can’t tell if he’s talking to his boss or his wife!

My partner tried it once. Wisely, he has chosen never to call me that again.

  28. marxz says:

MAAAAAAAAAATE… MAAAAAAAAAAAAATE…. if it was a kiwi you’d be called “bro” bro… err I mean maaaaaaaate

    • daniel says:

      hello
      how are u doing
l think u are feel find
and i hope u are come
chat with me l want u to add
me and let chat………….think my dear

  29. Jerky says:

Well don’t talk that way mate.

  30. Steph says:

Wheee, I’m from New Zealand. ‘bro’ and ‘mate’ can kinda be used interchangeably here…i think ‘mate’ is a little more common though. slightly. did we steal it from aus, or did aus steal it from nz? hmm…now sparks the aus vs nz war. ISLAND WARS!

  31. me says:

I wouldn’t call it “making fun” of the accent. I just wish I had such a cool one, so I try to imitate it. I suck at it. My midwestern US accent is so boring.

  32. loldanza says:

PEOPLE! isnt time we all got along didn’t argue about race.

  33. me!me!me! says:

    MAAAATTTTTTTTEEEEEEE!

Didn’t think they’d all appreciate the joke. Some of us do! Noice. Sweet.

  34. Menster says:

Dont you just detest the frigging Australians. – From a South African.
P.S. By the time this tri-nations is over, you lot will wish you’d wimply stuck with aussie rules.

  35. Donna says:

This dudes just pissed off cause his ancestors were kick out of britain for inbreeding!

  36. Wolvie says:

    Poor baby.

  37. Flozza says:

All of the xenophobes here have obviously never lived in Britain for any length of time or you would know what rubbish you are spouting. Get over the history and live your own lives – it is because of these stupid attitudes that the world is so messed up. There are brilliant people and complete tossers in every race and from every culture and one of those tossers obviously made this graph.

  38. Simmo33 says:

England will win the ashes. Just thought I’d tell you all.

  39. Steve. Really, Steve. says:

Sorry about the “Americans making fun” thing. I’m American, and when I visited Australia and New Zealand a few years back, your accents were wonderful to listen to. Everyone was so friendly. I’m sure some of us say “mate” to Aussies because we like your accent, and wish we could sound like that.

  40. Tioka12 says:

Im english, and I have to say, you shouldn’t just base your opinion of us on what you’ve seen on Family Guy and The Simpsons. (Love both of those shows btw :D )

    • griffin says:

? You do realise Family Guy and The Simpsons are american… not english… not even british! *gasp* And you’re not actually meant to take them seriously coz they are just cartoons…

  41. Claire says:

I love American accents. I think they are the coolest thing in forever.

  42. Igor the Vigorous says:

Really? I’m American, and think british/australian/irish/scottish accents are the coolest things ever. And that women with them are 10 times sexier. :P

    • AngryScot says:

So because I am a Scottish MAN you think I am not 10 times sexier? That’s sexism that is!

      • Welshie says:

Ahhh, no one even talks about the Welsh and their accents. :’(

        • Catbytes says:

ummm, you too could be mentioned (insulted) a lot online too!

          Here’s an idea or 2.

take over a large country (so you will have room for larger population), maybe Canada being as they aren’t so densely populated (except along border with US). Then become rich and have lots of TV shows and at least a few international celebs upon which other countries will base their like/hate of you. Also a big military will do wonders.. no matter if you use it to help OR take over other countries. Export some sort of food/drink and make it famous throughout the world, but it must mention something Welsh… oops, nevermind, we already did Welsh’s foodstuff over here :\

It might be easier to take over the continent of Antarctica than Canada though and you won’t have to worry about developing an “eh?” on the end of your sentences, but on the other hand, i hear it’s a few degrees colder down there and that may affect your accents even more.. which would defeat the whole project i suppose.

ummm, have you thought about immigrating to another country that’s already bashed all over the internet?

          • Catbytes says:

after thinking about what i posted here for fun, i have to face it that there will ALWAYS be somebody that will find a way to be offended, it is not those people to which i post (unless i sling a really snotty slur in your direction) :)

maybe this post is too buried to be noticed anyway :\

  43. Becca says:

    As a “pom”

I find this offensive and racist.

  44. Gemsie says:

Come on Becca – this is just a bit of rib-tickling! We will always be the ‘poms’ and they will always be the ‘Aussies’ – stiff upper lip and all that….

  45. mojojo says:

Humor me someone… I just read all 100+ responses hoping someone would explain the word “Pom.” I can only assume it’s a pejorative term looking at the responses. And thusly, what’s the signifigance of being a “whigning pommie bastard?” Not trying to incite, just want some insight…

  46. NixonAgnew says:

I’m an American, and I promise, I’d never make fun of your “accent.” I take great delight in listening to other dialects/accents whenever I can. I’d like to apologize for the ignorance of my fellow Americans when it comes to inter-cultural, international and all other relations.

  47. Mullen13 says:

    HA!
Now here’s an Aussie who’s obviously had ONE bad thing said/done to him by a Brit!.
Steriotypical Aussie, your the one WHINING, I mean come on, you felt the need to globalise it on GraphJam.

  48. Erik says:

No, I’m from Sweden. So much for you Aussie stereotype….

  49. Jazman-Flickr says:

Agreed with the American slice, disagree with the Brits type. I find it offensive.

  50. Reese says:

That’s nice to know. You should try being a Tasmanian before whinging to me about all that.

  51. AngryScot says:

You are aware that Pommies ARE NOT THE ONLY BRITS right? Britain consists of Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland (to some degree) AND England. As a true blood scotsman I take offence to you calling all Brits whinging Pommies. Go have a look at a map you twat.

  52. Hellomate says:

    Love the british comment.

  53. Dave says:

Put another shrimp on the barbie, Bruce.

    • Aussie! says:

ARRGH!!!! i HATE it when you bloody sepo’s say this WE DONT HAVE SHRIMP IN AUSTRALIA!!!!!! they are called PRAWNS!!!!!! and we usually buy cooked prawns and eat them cold, BBQ’s are used for lamb chops, bangers and kangaroo steaks *Drool* yeah that’s right your so jealous you don’t live in the only country where it is LEGAL to eat your national animal, :D emu’s not that bad either….emu egg omlette…yummmy;)

      • emily says:

he was trying to get you riled up…it obviously worked. haha. and the only reason we (americans) say those things is because either 1) as many have said, we like the accent and/or 2) in all of the so-called ‘australian’ advertising here (ie outback steakhouse, aussie shampoo, steve irwin, etc) we are brain-washed into believing that that’s how australians act and sound. i’m sure that you also have plenty of ideas about what american are like based upon what you have seen on tv, in movies and/or via the internet.

      • silv3r says:

        Never had Emu,
Kangaroos is awesome tho, and yes the damn things a called Prawn, and it annoys me when people call them shrimps, but meh…

  54. Emily says:

oh wow. Mate (who made this graph), chillax…

I live in Kiwiland and have a Singaporean accent (which is incredibly annoying, as well as sounding really really uneducated… Love my country hate the accent.)
And I love British accents by the way, although most of my (Kiwi) friends love American accents.

  55. Mim says:

I always wanted to visit Australia but as a Welsh girl who’s never said anything mean about the place or people this graph makes me very sad and hurt… :(

  56. aabbbbiiiiii says:

Tbh, The Northern irish, especially those from belfast, call people “Mate” all the time!

    This is insulting…

It should have 20% of British Chavs

  57. leftfordead2NOV17 says:

    1. what is a kiwi?
    2. what about how often people ask you for another shrimp on the barbie?

    • silv3r says:

Kiwi, is someone who is from New Zeland (if i spelt that wrong sorry, bit sleepy) and and for No.2, u dont wanna know how many times

  58. Jon says:

Mate is more universal than Australia, mate.

    • TGB says:

Yes, because you took our greeting and started using it.

I would have added a medium-sized pie segment labelled “Other people who aren’t Australian but use it because they think it sounds exotic.”

  59. Gill says:

This guy has forgotton to include his ‘cell-mate’ since all australians are the decendants of filthy, useless convicts we didnt want in our country anymore.

    • TGB says:

      Duuude… you are *so* jealous.

P.S. You do realise this is a *fun* site? If you’re looking for statistical accuracy and anthropological analysis, WTF did you come here? And if you’re not, WTF with the venom glistening on your fangs?

    • British Matt says:

      Lolz

  60. Patrick Stewart says:

    LOL it’s so true!

  61. etak says:

lol, bunch of douches. get over it.

  62. UKBeamer says:

It’s ok they can call us whingin, it’s contrary to our nature anyway I wish we moaned more we don’t do it enough, stiff upper lip and all! Anyway they can have that cos after all if it wasn’t for us Brits and more specifically the English, no one would be saying mate would they?
Now I dunno about you but I’m off to the pub with my mates to celebrate the ashes win.

  63. CalRH says:

    Hehe.

I’ve never spoken IRL to any Americans. So.. they don’t make fun of my accent, becuase they don’t hear it.

  64. Alixandria says:

An Aussie accent is one of the top two sexiest there are on the planet. The other depends on the guy’s personality and looks.

  65. Charlie says:

Chances that the person who made this graph is bitter about losing the Ashes, and a racist moron? 100%

    • silv3r says:

Now comment like this annoy me…
if everybody i ever made fun of called me racist, then i would be the most racist person in the world…
Aussies, arnt racist its just our sence of humour, if anybody comes to Australia, $20.00 there will be at least one person that pulls the piss, but thats all it is, pulling the Piss, if u want racism, and for the record, if u think we are recist to Britts (England and all the other countries, because im lazy) then feel sorry for the Kiwi’s because we give the twice as much craqp as every other Country, the diff is they gove it straigh back…

Everyone needs tp get over themselves and just enjoy a funny Joke,

  66. Nerdandproud says:

    I feel sorry for you.

  67. Becky says:

I’m OK with that “whinging” comment.
I’m also watching news reports about England winning the ashes.

  68. TehKidDatKnows says:

eh? “mate”? yer firgettin who geed yii yer language! Aussies are decendants of Brittish prisoners ya prick

  69. Reo says:

    *Kiwi reads graph*
    Good on ya, mate.
The funny thing is, if an Australian and a New Zealander meet in Aussie or NZ, they tend to give each other a hard time. If an Aussie and a Kiwi meet far away from home- The UK or the US, for example- they tend to buddy up, not to mention buy each other drinks!
*Ponders* There’s a graph in there somewhere, mate.

  70. CaffeineAddict says:

Kiwi: Slang term for a person who lives in New Zealand.

  71. griffin says:

Wow. I never realised I was a ‘Whingin’ Pommie Bastard’! It makes me so happy! Especially when I’m something that I have no idea what it means! What is … ‘pommie’?… *giggle* … *full blown laughter* … *calms down* … Have you ever been to Britain? Do you know any ‘Brits’? I strongly suspect the answer to both of them is no. Well at least I’m not some surfer dude with long blonde hair that worships the beach! ^_^

  72. Aussie says:

    Aussie Aussie Aussie
    OI OI OI!
I’m A True Aussie ya’ know.

  73. British Matt says:

    Hey, f*ck you mate.

Go put some more shrimp on the barbie and feed ya kolala bear ya Aussie twat

  74. Catbytes says:

I’m American and NOT a Yank. In this day and age i wouldn’t say “rebel” and if i say “southern”, non-Americans get it confused with South America.

Around these parts, the plural of “you” is “you all or ya’ll” not “yous” …nor “mates” lol

If i go a while without talking to a Canadian, then hear them speak, i keep thinking i’ve missed a question when they get to the “eh?”. :)

Is it just the English or Brits in general that start so many of their sentences with “Right”..? What’s that all about? lol One guy (mate?) from London that i sometimes talk to does generally tend to leave right after he starts a sentence with it though. It seems to make no difference what i had just said or if he was last to speak beforehand. Suddenly he says “Right” then i’ve learned to say “Ok, see ya next time” before he gets out his excuse for leaving. LOL

  75. Catbytes says:

Some thoughts on people from over yonder in Europe.

The women i find “most” attractive are Irish and Scottish. I suppose i should say “women of Celtic ancestry” where ever they were born. Irish/Scottish accents help though… even though i wouldn’t know the difference(?) as to which is which unless it’s pointed out to me.

Other than the Welsh post a ways back and the general country vs country sniping on here, what got me to thinking on this so much recently was a Valentine’s Day commercial that includes a beautiful redhead complete with the perky nose that i think of as Celtic.

I also love Celtic music… some of it anyways. Usually more modernized versions like from Enya, but also some of the more traditional, but it goes a lot deeper than that. To me, it’s like it’s natural… music that has always been there… somebody just had to discover it and play it.

Perhaps my own ancestry has something to do with it. Though it seems most of my folks from way back came before the Revolutionary War, which makes it a bit hard to identify just where in Britain “they” came from, much of the early settlers here were Irish or Scottish… and the shape of the “family nose” seems to agree. :)

    ……………..

This isn’t meant to be a classified add LOL

I just wanted to point out that though i was really disappointed not long after i got on the internet at how countries i thought were America’s friends (and not so distant relatives) and by extension, my friends and relatives in general, seem to hate US… that even with that, i’m still attracted to the “old country” and people… or at least some of it.

Hey, I’ve NEVER said that there aren’t adorable non-redhead ladies in Europe either! That i know for a fact! :)

ok, so that’s about women, but as for a couple thoughts about the guys..

Though i’m not a drinker myself, if i was to get a notion to visit a “pub” (which would to me mean traveling overseas) I imagine some place in the Highlands and my best drinking buddy having red hair (and likely beard too). Or.. down by the sea someplace in Ireland and an outburst of “ARRRRR!” ever now and then. LOL does anyone over there actually say that? :) Maybe it’s just my childhood fascination with old movies about past days of sailing.. and Simpsons.

ya ya, kinda simplistic points but this post is much too long for here

  76. Annonymous says:

Woah Nelly, mind it with the Brit offending. Australian accents are awesome, and I’m realizing that might just be personal opinion, but still. Brits are good people.

I thought this was graph was funny, and yes i read all this commenta, and i have friends that are american, from Brittian, (all of it) and NZ…
and as far as i can tell, the only ones who took it in the intention that ths graph was meant to be taken in were the Kiwi’s, us Aussies, about 25% of the Britts and nearly all of the Americans. to the people who didn’t grow up. and learn the difference between pulling the Piss and Racism, because if you dont, u will be like that snobby millionare who said that all Aussies are racist, he didn’t get the sence of humour.
