This graph is actually a FAIL. All syllables increase in loudness (linguists call it sonority) in the middle of the syllable where the vowel is.
Being the creator of this chart – no, it is not. It works perfectly well, or at least, as intended. And believe me, I know about it. Chinese studies are not exactly the easiest, especially when it comes to tonality and similar awesome stuff.
