not to mention that, some people that find out about the earthquakes make up fake charity organisations and trick people into ‘donating money to the poor and helpless’. people have been tricking others this way, A LOT.

That too. This is the first graph that I’ve actually laughed out loud at in a long time! I’ve never experienced an earthquake, but as a Katrina “victim*” I think I’d prefer one or two, earthquakes.

*I live in lower mid-state Mississippi, and Katrina wasn’t so bad for us. She just knocked out all our utilities for two weeks. The bad part started a few days after. We realized that all of the help was going to the coast, leaving local governments to fend for themselves. That was bad, and I cant even begin to imagine what Nawlins was like.

It’s an all-over CA thing, not just L.A. I’m glad I live in probably the least-seismically active part of the Golden State (the closest big one was back in 1892).

When I lived in Big Bear and Hector Mines (1999) hit, I told my wife “it’s at least a 7.0, and centered about 45 miles away to the northeast.” Pretty darned accurate for being rudely awakened at 2:45am.

Well, you do have earthquakes, they just don’t occur as often as on the Left Coast. 1755, for example. Probably had something to do with witches.
