this thread about mythbusters “disproving” it has been made several times. And although the true probability of a flat object landing is that it lands on either side, most toast is dropped from a height the only allows one rotation until it lands. And since toast is usually placed on a plate butter side up, it makes one rotation after it falls and lands butter side down on the floor.
And mythbusters is not the best source for information of most nature. Some myths are true in certain circumstances that mythbusters deosnt take into account.

But don’t go spend four years in college to learn how to use watercolors. Try things out for yourself and in the process develop your own style and find out what you like to paint. I didn’t see the Mythbusters episode, but I read an article in a science magazine a few years ago, that also concluded that it was most likely to fall butter-side down … for the same reasons Graveson said.

You can do this experiment easily, with something like a book (put an elastic band around it to stop the pages opening.) Push it to the edge of the table, it falls, it revolves about 180 degees before hitting the ground.,
