This is why I don’t watch horror movies anymore. My husband and my bunny are really tired of me screaming and flailing in my sleep, causing lots of heart-attacks and wet sheets. He says the wet sheets are from the bunny, but we didn’t always have the bunny….
ummmmmmmmmmm wetting the bed…
WIN! This is so true. Especially when you keep waking up at 3 in the morning after watching The Exorcism of Emily Rose!
FAIL! ..if you keep waking up after watching that boring comedy.
That was a horror movie? Oo
I have to say… The movie didn’t scare me until I found out that it’s based on a true story… And the parts of the “recorded exorcism” where the girl is screaming was actually from the “real” story… Creepy… Now when I watch it, I get creeped out really bad. Lol.
Have you ever watched “Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte”? Betty Davis is scarry!
Or “What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?”
Ms. Davis is eeeyiiikes scary!!
Amen, this is exactly how the ring went for me. . .
So true.
I mean, uh.. You guys are pussies! I`m gonna go eat some raw meat…
See “Tesis”–now THERE’S a movie that’s actually legitimately scary. It’s a Spanish film from the director of “The Others” (which was also damn good and pretty damn creepy, though I wouldn’t go as far as to call it scary).
Hmm, what other movies truly scared me? Not many… Not many at all. “Mulholland Drive” had some freaky moments, though I’d still put that in the “creepy” category. I tend to find stuff far more distressing than scary–like “Irreversible” and “Salo, or the 120 Days of Sodom.” I cry like a baby during “AI,” but eat junk food all the way through the “Saw” series.
Mulholland Drive just made me feel like I wasted two hours of my life. I should have known it was worthless as soon as Billy Ray Cyrus appeared on the screen.
SILENCIO!
Retarded question: now that I’ve made a graph, how do I submit it?
Yell at it alot, make it feel bad about itself, and that you are more important than it is. It will submit.
LOL! xD
This was true about 5 or 6 years ago for me, but the graph is just a solid pipe laying on the ground.
Don’t forget when you get in the shower. Everything seems scarier when you’re alone in the shower.
What about IT?
There should be a spot for when you try to close your eyes during the scary parts and actually make it scarier. I did that watching Poltergeist as a kid.
For one of the greatest ghost stories ever, try Guillermo Del Toro’s “The Devil’s Backbone,” made before he made the Hellboy movies or “Pan’s Labyrinth.” It’s both one of the creepiest and the most beautiful movies ever made. It’s set during the Spanish Civil War at an orphanage with more than a few deadly secrets haunting it. It will stay with you for days afterward. Definitely in my top five all-time list
Ya know, I used to be fine with horror films, but now I find if I watch them too late in the day (esp. if it’s one I’ve never seen before), they give me unsettling dreams. So while I love me a good (and sometimes even a bad) horror movie, I watch them during the day… [sigh]
there is also the ‘walking back to your car across an empty parking lot after the movie (at midnight)’
Indeed! That was how I felt about Pans Labyrinth and the Sleepy Hollow movie with Johnny Depp. I was like, “Ah, not scary.” Then when I had to walk to the car, “Yipes!”
my stepmum said she did that after watching i am legend (though not really a horror film all that much) and she was crapping herself!
After I saw ‘Beaches’ I couldn’t sleep for weeks!
But to prove I am indeed a tool, when I left the theater after seeing “Jurassic Park” I was literally looking around for a T-Rex to come blasting through the parking lot! That was cool! I like movies that make me unreasonable!
“Breakdown” with Kurt Russell – very scary….
I couldn’t sleep at all after watching Pontypool.
Being high off of my ass didn’t help, I bet.

So true. And this is even more scarier when you think that the ten last films you’ve seen are horror films. You’re in you’re bed, at the second floor of your grandparents’ old house with the floor cracking, the drapes waving because of the wind… You hear a crack. In an instant, you close your eyes, thinking about what is coming to haunt you inside your bedroom.
And then, you’re even more scared. So you open one eye, one instant, and you immediately close it because you think you’ve just seen something moving there, close to the door. And it goes, all night long. You think it’s a living nightmare, but it’s only a very calm night.
You only realize it when you wake up at 4 pm. And when you realize that because of having slept all the morning and a big half of the afternoon, and that you know that you’ll be woken up until late in the night, you ask your grandfather to buy you a night light.
I’m 17 in september, it’s nearly 2pm right now and that happened to me last night.
So true. It doesn’t even have to be a horror. Reading Chamber of Secrets (movie not scary) => going to take a shower…
I’d rather take one after watching Psycho.
