Genius. Love that song!
FIRST!
sigh…
Moron
FAIL… wait wrong blog.
Stupid idiot
Pinball Wizard! The Who rocks!
Niiice!
Gets the replay “Always”
Woah, a graph on graphjam that actually represents a song? WOW!
Its nice to see a graph about why this website was created, and not all this other filler.
You forgot “Always gets a replay” and “Never seen him fall”. ;P
Best graph I’ve seen here in a long time
When I was this graph, I was like “WTF”? Then I watched the video, and I was still, “WTF?” Damn you Billy Joel!
Billy Joel? WTF?
Yeah, same guy who did Crocodile Rock and Uptown Girl.
Elton John did Crocodile Rock, and The Who did Pinball Wizard.
yes, but not who sang “Pinball Wizard”…
Well, one out of three isn’t bad, dear. “Uptown Girl” is Billy Joel, but I’m pretty sure you’re thinking of Elton John. He’s in the Pinball Wizard scene of the “Tommy” movie, if memory serves, and he sings “Crocodile Rock”. Not Billy Joel.
thank god im not the only one who knows about “Tommy”
Of course not! “Tommy” is awesome! I have both the original album and the movie soundtrack. And of course I have the movie lurking around somewhere. . . I really need to watch that again.
Wait, they made a movie out of some guy who plays Pinball?
No, they made a movie out of The Who’s album “Tommy” which is basically a rock opera about a kid who becomes ‘deaf, dumb and blind’ from seeing his dad kill his mom’s lover. His parents tell him “you didn’t see anything, you didn’t hear anything, and you won’t say anything to anybody”. His parents try everything to make him better including taking him to a cult. Then they discover that he’s good at pinball, and I can’t remember what order the rest of it is in but I know that in the end he’s ‘better’ and starts his own cult and the cult people revolt and kill his parents.
In the movie though, the lover kills the dad instead of the dad killing the lover.
You nailed it Nostawyn. There are actually three versions of Pinball Wizard by The Who. In the first (from the ’69 album) Roger Daltry sang. Then (72 Tommy Album) Rod Stewart sang. On the ’75 movie soundtrack, Elton John sang and added a piano part. All three have the who playing the other instruments.
It was my marching show freshman year of high school.
We watched the movie in class, which was amusing.
My high school did “Tommy” but it was way before I marched. I can’t remember what year it was.
our band did a tommy halftime show this year(my junior year) it was kind of boring for clarinets… but still fun. search onenorwaystreet on youtube.
Are you joking? I know about “Tommy”, and Im 12 years old! My mom even wants to show me the movie, but cant find it in the libarary.
You have to admit that you’re probably in the minority, though. I discovered “Tommy” when I was either 11 or 12 by going through my dad’s record collection. I hope you can find it and watch the whole thing. It’s amazing.
I do believe Elton John did record a version of Pinball Wizard…
He did, for the movie soundtrack of “Tommy”. That’s why I said I thought that the threat-starter person (too tired to think of the abbr.) was probably thinking of Elton John instead of Billy Joel.
billy joel is way better than elton john anyhow
billy joel has his strong points but elton john has the real exprience
You were a graph? O.O
Is… is that… OMG it’s a graph about a song! Man, it’s been too long since “Music and Pop Culture in Charts and Graphs” was actually on the site.
That deaf, dumb, and blind kid sure plays a mean pinball!
(See me! Feel me! Touch me! Heal me!)
Chass, when I’m watching 24 and Jack Bauer says, “Tony, can you hear me?” I immediately starting singing that song. Then I segue into, “See me, fear me. Shoot me, kill me…”
But then again, I’m admittedly weird.
Your analysis is incomplete. There are other factors that should be considered. For example, how often does this Pinball Wizard get a replay? Has he been seen to fall, and if so, how often?
Other than these considerations, your analysis is reasoned and highly accurate.
Good song, but this graph is utter fail.
There are some things that just don’t make good graphs. Sorry.
I agree.
It would be better if it was titled “Things that Deaf Dumb and Blind kid does”… among other things.
There’s got to be a twist.
This grraph is pure win. I love that song.
You win for this =D
o.o That’s so weird. I just turned iTunes onto shuffle and it gave me this song. It was about ten seconds in when I spotted this graph while surfing on this site. How often does Pinball Wizard come up that that would happen?
Beautiful. I LOLed.
He also always gets the replay. O:
Isnt that originally by the Who?
