    • The Strange Cat says:

Think about the letters. Nine Inch Nails, Jane’s Addiction…N-I-N-J-A! Yaaay! Ninjas are cool, and ninjas + hard rock = head-exploding AWESOMENESS!

  6. Nin fan 1234 says:

    NIN FTW <3

  7. SigSauer says:

lol, when they first came out with the NIN/JA tour name, that was the first thing I thought of. NIN FTW

  8. Remzy says:

The “because Trent is a f*cking sellout” portion is missing.

Thats coming from someone who was listening to Pretty Hate Machine in the early 90′s.

    • Bob Dole says:

I think it is funny that people say a band or artist becomes a “sell-out” just because they don’t like the music the band makes anymore. Musicians tend to like to try out different things, and their own taste changes as they age… just like the rest of us. If you have heard of a band or artist before, chances are they are already sellouts… Kind of the point when you choose that as your profession. You are a tool Remzy.

      • av says:

Totally a fanboy. Obviously. Your contributions are so… insightful. They contribute so much to mankind and the internet.

      • Andrea says:

Glad you mentioned that you listened to PHM (why weren’t you listening to it in ’89, though if you’re such a hardcore fan?), because that convinced me that you’re an authority on the subject.
        .
Seriously, though, if you’d left that bit out, I might have thought you were poking fun, but now you have to explain…

    • rustedhalo says:

oh yeah “sell out” that’s why the last album was available for FREE. Bands/Musicians/Music change. You think cause you’re been listening to NIN since PHM makes you have some sort of say so with what Trent does. I’ve been listening just as long (91) and sure maybe some of the newer stuff I don’t like as much but I would never call Trent a “sell out”

    • Andreas says:

Yep, definitely more of a sellout now than when he was on a corporate label. Clearly, independently distributing your music, then going so far as to give it away for free and give it an open source contract is akin to selling out these days.

You’re a tool. I hope you catch Canceraids.

    • Jefoid says:

Oh yeah. They’re such sellouts! I’ve been listening to them since <>. They totally suck compared to <>. That’s where real music comes from!

  9. Some Geek says:

    Finally!

    An original joke on GraphJam!!!!

  10. I nearly choked on my coffee. Awesome. Just awesome.

  11. Maria says:

Ohhh yes. That is brill. :D

  12. Destin says:

    Irrelevant but hilarious.

  13. rawr says:

mw ahahahahaha NINJAS! I don’t listen to EITHER of those bands, but I like Janes Addiction by association. Ya see,
Janes addiction= Dave Narvvo ( however you spell that)=Red Hot Chili Peppers=awesome.

  14. Funny I thought the same thing when I downloaded their album sampler. Kudos to this graph.

  15. karat says:

I take it that you haven’t known about the Manchester and London shows on July 14 and July 15 respectively.

  16. the real reason everyone is touring & back together? THE ARE BROKE!
    srsly.

    • Scorp1us says:

Trent’s been touring about 3 years straight now. After this he’s said he’s done for a while. After the Fragile he was pretty much done, then Cash remade Hurt and Trent decided to get back into it.

Trent definitely doesn’t need the money. He’s indy now. He Bought himself out after Year Zero (in which the unique packaging cost him $0.83/CD) and then release Ghosts for free but still made him over $3M from the Deluxe Ltd edition, with no record company in the way. Then the released the Slip, for free. No, Trent doesn’t need the money.

      Seriously.

  17. Whodoyoudo! says:

HAHA! Glad somebody did this, ’cause I thought the exact same thing when I saw the commercial for this tour.

    (Jane’s Addiction ftw)

  18. omeros says:

it’s because reznor is producing/produced the new jane’s record. and from what i’ve heard, it actually sounds amazing.

  23. Kitty says:

  24. a_a says:

    OMG!!! This graph totally MMD!!!

  25. Alejandro says:

i dont get it…what do nine inch nails have to do with Jane’s addiction (whoever that is)???? oh wait i just read that theyre bands….thats why i never heard of them! im sorry but in my opinion…yelling about how hard life is and endless hitting of drums isnt music…im latino so i listen to ACTUAL music…we sing about love and the beauty of life and our dances arent shaking and banging our heads till the blood is all over our head…
