  1. kid says:

    haha so true.

  2. Empyrean Goddess says:

Would have been funnier as a Venn diagram I think.

  3. NoOneInteresting says:

It’s amazing and amusing how most people who don’t live in California think that all of California is either in Los Angeles, on the beach or somehow both.

  4. poop says:

    Southern California A-HOLE

I’m in Norcal and I’m offended

    • Yeah, clearly it should have been labeled “Southern California Seasons” …isn’t the one for “Northern California Seasons” supposed to be half “Cold and Rainy” and the other half “Colder and Rainier”? (Kidding, really. Kinda.) ;-)

      • Nick says:

Actually speaking as a norcal it is currently, “Oh my god why does it feel like summer”, and “didn’t january end a while ago?” This is just where i live though, stupid seb-town.

    • Smilims says:

Dude, I’m from NorCal and that’s totally our seasons too. Calm down.

      • anshawednesday says:

not really. how can we have a “mud season” IF IT NEVER RAINS. holy crap. oh, and the whole earthquakes thing… not so much. last major earthquake was a LOOONG ass time ago.

      • poop says:

I’m sorry, I’ve never seen a mudslide or wildfire UNLESS I have been in SoCal.

I’ve never seen any of those in NorCal… AND YOU’RE FREAKIN CRAZY

    • True Nor-Cal-ian says:

Yeah Dude, I’m from the REAL Nor-Cal… whereas the closest WalMart, McDonalds, Starbucks, AND Costco were located in OREGON, 2 HOURS AWAY! Sure we have the rainy season (mud slides) and the dry season (wildfires). We also have winter… with snow. In fact… there’s a Movie called Snowbound ABOUT that area… so yes… Southern California it is…

  5. TheLoneIguana says:

Then there’s central-valley California weather: Roughly 2% nice and comfortable; 49% Way too Frickin’ cold, 49% Too hot to move.

  6. Zoreta says:

It’s pathetic how tourists coming to SoCal think they have to worry about earthquakes.

How many houses were destroyed by earthquakes in the last five years? None. Maybe a dozen got structural damage, but none got leveled.
How many houses were destroyed by wildfires and mudslides in the last decade? HUNDREDS.

…Although it is pretty funny when we get a 2.0 or 3.0 (which happen a couple times a year) and the tourists all start running like chickens with their heads cut off when the ground shivers. The one we got this summer was especially fun because Summer is when we get all of the out-of-state people.

    • Cowlifornia says:

So true! We get a 4.0 or greater every month or 2 it seems… Little shaking and all’s good. Heck, the 5.5 on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at 18:42:15 UTC gave me a little scare, but even then it caused only minor damage.

Evil building codes, making us safer :P

      • Zoreta says:

Of course, the one this summer had its epicenter under a hotel… So lots of tourists shat bricks. Could you imagine if we had a serious quake during the Rose Parade? It’d be HILARIOUS. Floats running amok, band people falling over due to big, heavy instruments getting shaken…

        • Devylan says:

wow. y’all keep laughing. i’m sure similar statements were made before katrina hit us in new orleans. it’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt.

          • Zoreta says:

You forget that California does take precautions. LOTS of them. California, currently, has the strictest building codes in the country as far as structural integrity, and pretty much all buildings are required to be able to tolerate earthquakes. The only things exempt are little work sheds and things like that.

A quake probably wouldn’t do all that much damage to buildings, but it’d scare people.

          • cooyo! says:

hey tennessee is awesome. especially nashville(where i live)

    • Shalindria says:

I would be scared if the world even shivered around me. I don’t care if it doesn’t do any damage, I would poop bricks.

      • Viking says:

well, there was an earthquake in the South this last summer, and EVERYONE but me went insane. I just slept. LOL

  7. Tuckerlol says:

Well, this Californian got a chuckle out of this. It does seem to be the case lately.

  8. Nerd Judge says:

    So you’re saying California sucks . . .

  9. Maddigans says:

Wow so true…….for Southern Cali at least. For the nocal people the reason you’re not mentioned is well Southern Cali is a lot better!!!

    • Rhianimator says:

*grins evilly* Yes, SoCal living beneath me, believe that if it helps you sleep at night. But remember, We are in your lakes and snowpacks, keeping all your waters. (evil NorCal)

      • Bix Nood says:

Which is why we should split the state. Everything south of Bakersfield should be declared Southern California, and left to dry out.

But then again I am in favor of splitting California into about eight states.
Since that’s about how many states reside in California, if you go by political, and economical standards.

  10. Bix Nood says:

    Should have been Southern California.

Northern California is ‘cold, and wet winters’, and ‘hot as hell summers’.

As for earthquakes, quit complaining about California having them. Tornadoes, and hurricanes do more damage every year in the rest of the country then earthquakes do in California.

But hey, the fools in the Midwest wont be laughing when the New Madrid fault goes.

  11. Nefertete says:

I agree – always get offended when S. Cali is confused-I am from northern California – Mendocino to be exact. But Northern cali can get many of those issues :)
Made an improvement anyhow :) Click my linkie to view.

  12. Cowlifornia says:

Meh, I am ok with all the weather except the hot and humid. I prefer rain over sun :P

  13. San Diego SAYS says:

BUT ITS BEACH AND CHRONIC TIME

    100% OF THE TIME
    :)

  14. hehehe says:

What does snow have to do with california? Or am I missing a drug reference here…

  15. Captian Obvoius says:

    Duck season

  16. jefffey says:

well the evironment there is medditeranian (chapparal) it is supposed to burn

  17. LightDisciple says:

For those of us in Southern California… these are our seasons. We’re either being burnt to the ground, or having floods with an earthquake thrown in there for good measure. We had an earthquake yesterday.

  18. mandie says:

Seriously. I live in Sacramento and the weather is like this

Hot as F – May through October
Freezing ass cold and windy – November through April
oh it’s nice for a couple weeks – Part of April
Hot as F – May through October

    Lather, rinse, repeat.

    • Nessie says:

That sounds a lot like Nebraska :D Cept we have the lovely tornado season and the hot season’s shorter and partially replaced by cold/fair weather… Dont ask why Nebraska was brought into this, I guess both states are stereotyped heavily XP

  19. SB says:

Hey, in SoCal we have Awards Season and Riot Season too!

  20. poop says:

    You’re not native to California.
    You said Cali…

  21. Squiddy Attack says:

I live near San Francisco. This is true.

Though, seriously, the earthquakes aren’t as bad as a lot of people seem to think. I’ll take the quakes over a tornado any day. :P

    • Nessie says:

:XD Smart choice, tornados are scary! (they scare the crap outta me at least) They don’t happen as often as most people belive though. Plus, some don’t even touch the ground (thankfully)

  22. n8 says:

I’m from new england I know that california isn’t always like that and I know that there’s also mountains too.(thanks to rocket power) earthquakes happen anywhere, I also lived in the chicago area and we had a couple of 5′s every 5 years. they’re not so bad.

  23. Jayon says:

Haha! Norcal isn’t California. You’re thinking of southern Oregon.

  24. Kelsa says:

Obviously you dont’ live in Califorina… otherwise you would know the two true seasons are: Unbearably Hot and Overcast

    • frzferdinand72 says:

Absolutely true. One day, it could be an absolute scorcher, the next day, it’s chilly and cloudy, and even when the clouds recede, it’s still pretty cool and windy.

  25. LOL says:

YES! As a Californian I hereby vouch for the awesomeness of this graph. Win.
