and are second D-bag emerges
“are”? You, my good man, fail at life.
victoria=3rd d-bag
Hi!
Who is Noob Saibot? It rings a bell…
and “first” comments are for D-Bags and people with a severe obsession to be noticed… like celebrities
Guess what? Anyone who commented on this needs a life. Including me. At least I have the dignity to admit that. SO HA!
d-bags *muttered under breath*
No ramen?
i was gonna say that!
same lol was thinking “shouldn’t there be another largest layer on bottom of Ramen?” not to mention booze lol
Ramen requires boiled water — not something a community college student would have.
I don’t think community college students learn how to do that until the end of their sophomore year.
a majority (if not all) of community college students are commuters. mainly b/c community colleges don’t have dorm rooms, therefore making ramen noodles almost impossible. unless they use the microwave in the student lounge
as a community college student, I assure you ramen noodles are a HUGE part of my diet – made either in the microwave or with hot ‘tea’ water
Oh mine too, chicken flavor anyone??
some community colleges have some sort of on campus living. i know because my friend lives in an on campus apartment at a community college
and HELL NO you don’t wanna use the microwave
My cafeteria had a microwave in it and ramen is delicious.
So you lie sir!
most college dorms would have a water fountain or at least a sink somewhere. Any source of water is good enough for poor, hungry college students!
oh and it only requires a hot-pot and some water. simple for even the slowest college student.
and it only takes one well-to-know student to train the whole dorm on the way of the ramen.
or just a microwave and some tap water.
crumble dry ramens in bowl, add desired water amount, microwave in one minute increments until noodles are cooked to taste. add seasoning and eat.
fricken hell I’m a ramen connoisseur haha!
Do you put Vienna sausages in them sometimes? Really adds to the meaty flavor.
Those hot dogs with the cheese in them aren’t bad either, but the cheese can burn your tongue.
Damn–I eat Ramen with cheap processed meat in it, and then I talk about it on the Internet. Something’s wrong with this picture…
nothing wrong with being frugal!
I’ve been out of college for years and still prefer ramens and cereal to ordering out.
and to answer your question, no, never put sausages in my ramens… I prefer the chicken variety and the sausage isn’t conducive
Sorry, but I tried that and damn near barfed.
no it doesn’t
Learned that in HS, don’t need water at all.
Eat the noodles uncooked, sprinkle on seasoning according to taste.
if you’re commuting, crush the noodles in a sammich baggie and pour seasoning over the top… munch happily.
Word.
Uncooked ramen is the shizznit!
Dude, a lot of us just cook it in the microwave. After 2 minutes in the nuker, you can’t really tell the difference.
Plus, at 25 cents a serving, Ramen is the cheapest entree known to man. Even if you get all “fancy” and put Vienna sausages in it, it’s still cheaper than going to McDonald’s.
It can also be microwaved. Just add water and heat. I know nine year olds who can even accomplish this, I’m sure that a college student could…maybe…figure it out.
There must be Ramen! As a college/graduate student, I hereby testify that Ramen is the staple of every 18-25 year old’s diet.
Wrong, actually.
Ramen is gross and not vegetarian, so there is no way it is a staple for me. I’m a community college student and have found this wonderful tool – food stamps. They are fantastic!
First to say Ramen Noodles not on here.
Damn!
As first as Buzz Aldrin maybe.
Neil Armstrong win.
sad faice:( no ramens
This is a food pyramid for community college students… Ramen is for UNIVERSITY students
Right on!
Yeah, ramen’s for us fancy William & Mary students. Traditional Colonial ramen the way our forefathers ate it.
Dude . . . I’m pretty sure that crap from vending machines gets a much larger piece of the pyramid.
yea… trade “can i get a bite” and vending machines…
actually, when i was at CC, most of my classes were in the eve when the cafe was closed. so i’d always stop at wawa or grab fast food on my way in, or just raid the vending machine. energy drinks weren’t that big at the time.
I agree with the energy drink thing…
too expensive really, and none of my classes allowed open containers… had to have a lid… water bottle ftw.
aside from that, regular black coffee was 50 cents honor system in the cafeteria, you needed about 10 sugar packets to make it palatable but it was cheap.
This completely ignores ramen and macaroni & cheese.
This pyramid shows the Community College Commuter diet. I’m a commuter to a university and my diet consists of ramen, mac’n'cheese, spaghettio’s and other stove top/microwaveable items. Only people who live on campus ever get energy drinks.
As for coffee… We have a Starbucks in our Student Center. xD But I never get it. As for the chart, flip it over so vending machines are in the biggest piece
If the maker of this graph was trying to show amounts of each food, a bar graph would have been better. Just saying.
they weren’t necessarily, only customizing the standard American “Food Pyramid” for College students.
Mine consists almost entirely of vending machine food and coffee.
*high five*
For me its #1 Energy Beverages and #2 McDonalds dollar menu.
After I graduate college this spring, Im never eating ramen again.
I thought that too…
it sneaks up on you… i promise
3 years later I find myself craving it… with a little… ok a lot of franks red hot sauce… mmm
or if hubby and I are feeling classy, we’ll cook up some chicken breast and add it to cooked ramens, then add some sesame seeds.
I prepare good stuff on the grill!
(And never mind those people looking for their lost dog!)
Who the hell is Leon????
What, no BEER?!?! What kind of college is this?!?!
maybe they consider that more along the lines of entertainment, rather than diet
Leon is the ex-con with faded tats, hair net and a cigarette behind his ear at the grill top, serving up burger, fries and chicken fingers for your dining pleasure.
While ‘College Student Diet’ = ‘Ramen’ is true, it lost the funneh about 10 years ago.
I prefer onion bagels akshually…
lightly toasted with cream cheese.
or jalapeno bagels with same set-up…
/grumble
must be lunch time.
The sad part is that is true
GREAT LOL
Pot, Don’t forget about pot!
Where’s the pizza?!
It’s funny because it’s true.
Cold pizza and beer?
mine would include, ramen, pizza, subs, sunchips, hy-vee Chinese, and anything from little debby/hostess, oh and coke-zero
God this is so true.
Thanks for making me realize the crap I eat, and the fact that i go to a COMMUNITY college. weak
Being a community college student the food pyramid for other people I see around the student center is fairly accurate, but I personally don’t understand why the other students would pay $3.50 plus tax for a slice of crappy pizza every day, and ultimately end up spending over fourteen dollars a week (eating a slice at each meal and having two meals at school) when you can spend that much and make something nutritious and better tasting by FAR to bring from home?
As a college student, I must put down my diet:
1st and foremost: Ramen cooked in microwave.
2. Uncooked Ramen in Baggie.
3. Vending machine life-shorteners.
4. The age-old art of groaking (real word), which is watching someone eating in the hope that they will give you some.
5. Hot dogs.
… yeah.
