  1. Anthea says:

    Haha, classy

  2. Flabergasted says:

    Graph Win.

  3. leftovercrizack says:

    it’s clever, but not funny

    • mamarosa says:

Nobody gets the fact that Karl Marx is in and Zeppo is out?

      Funny graph!

      Marx Brothers not so much.

Karl Marx… don’t get me started.

      • What the hell? says:

We get it but it doesn’t automatically mean it’s funny.

I do find it funny though I can’t understand why Karl would have a funny accent.

        • Casa says:

They all kinda talked funny, except Harpo and he mostly just honked. ^^
          “Throw some water on her”
“But that’s the only water we have!”
“This is the only woman we have too!”
          Quick… name the movie.

      • daniel says:

See that little white spot in the middle that’s not in any of the circles? That’s Zeppo.

        • Kinoko says:

Hahaha win. That would have made me bust out laughing, if there was a line drawn to the center dot indicating Zeppo.

          Otherwise, this graphs pretty good.

        • Shiny says:

Or it could be Gummo. After all, he wasn’t in any of the movies.

    • Damian says:

This one is funny _because_ it’s so clever. :)

  4. ewwee says:

    Wow! Very clever.

  5. I LOLed. says:

Nice to know people remember who they are. I’ve had many experiences to the contrary lately.

    • Elx says:

OMG, I love the Marx Bros. They were soooooooooo hilarious. What happened that people don’t remember them? They were so great.

  6. Duke says:

I once shot an elephant in my pajamas. Why he was in my pajamas, I’ll never know.

  7. Tom Accuosti says:

Wait – why isn’t Zeppo a data point?

“I wouldn’t want to belong to any club that would have me as a member.”

  8. pfft says:

    LOVE the Marx brothers!!

    “Hello, I must be going!”

    Comedy at its finest.

  9. Andyvan says:

One quibble: Chico chased the ladies too.

  10. Yer mom says:

So close, yet so far. I can’t decide if including Karl and ignoring Zeppo was genius or a total lapse. Interesting attempt! :-D

  11. turk says:

Better than the last Marx graph, imo

  12. 214 534 2409 says:

    stupid

  13. Tetra says:

    Genius.

  14. coolerthanu says:

    wait… i dont get it…

  15. RoadieRich says:

Groucho was a musician… He played piano and sings.

    • Paul says:

Groucho’s role in the musical act was singing and playing the guitar.

I’m not saying he couldn’t play piano, but anyone who would even TRY when Chico was around would just end up looking foolish.

      • hackenbush says:

Groucho played guitar and sang (as well as danced).

Chico was the only one who had musical instrument lessons, according to their biographies, and Harpo only had a single lesson on the harp.

  16. hackenbush says:

*Technically* Groucho didn’t really have facial hair until far after their well known movies, preferring a greasepaint mustache instead.

  17. jwd says:

Zeppo? What about Gummo? Completely left out of the act after Vaudeville, and now this! No respect…

    (WIN, btw…)

“A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five.”
    -Groucho Marx

  18. Duffy says:

    All hail Marx and Lennon.

  19. CrashTestGenius says:

“Ladies and gentlemen, I’ve had a wonderful time – but this wasn’t it.”

And, the best quote ever, which got Groucho’s TV show canceled:

(Groucho had on a woman who had 13 kids)
G: “Why do you have 13 kids?”
W: “Well… because I love my husband so much.”
G: “Lady, I love my cigar, but I take it out every once and a while.”

    …CANCELED!

  20. Anvilgong says:

They’re all musicians actually: that’s how they got their start. (See Horsefeathers)

  21. The Pieman says:

    FAIL!!!
Karl Marx was not one of the “Marx brothers” of the early 1900s, but the founder of communism who published the Communist Manifesto in 1848.

  22. ePants says:

A clever idea, certainly, but not the graph is reversed.

For a diagram labeled “Marx Brothers,” the circles should have the names and the intersections should have the shared features.

  23. Chris says:

Remember the end of Night at the Opera when they replaced the real scores with “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”?

    Classic.

  24. fleakfragfry says:

Chases girls? Um, Chico was a womanizer. That’s why his name was “chic”-o. I know this was already posted, but really, it bares repeating. Leaving him out of there is like saying Captain “Planet” is a local authority.

  25. 123 says:

I can’t believe how serious some of you people are getting about this. Who cares if the graph isn’t dead-on with their personalities, take the joke and laugh at it and be done with it. Yes, they were ALL musicians. Yes, almost ALL of them chased women. No, he did not include the less famous Marx brothers. It doesn’t matter, it’s a clever graph, shut the hell up.

  26. rae says:

Were the marx brothers actually related karl marx? Great uncle maybe?

  27. Crazee77 says:

    there is no middle
