Other than your last bitter statement, I agree with you whole-heartedly.
This isn’t about three or four people enjoying group sex because we never see any parts of the men other than a bit of their arms.
The ad is directed at men which is why they chose not to show any parts of the men. That would turn off their viewers, where this puts you in the men’s place.

This woman has no identity she only has one role. that is to serve. She serves twofold: she serves the beer, and she serves sex.

The men get to lay back and enjoy themselves and sip a beer. What does she get to do? Sip the guy. The men are clearly enjoying themselves, they let out a sigh of relief, there is no indication shes enjoying herself at all. The message? share women with friends. they are objects, they are objects to be physically enjoyed and physically used. There is nothing implying she is using the men.

Why is it that whenever anyone insinuates sexism, those most threatened by the remarks accuse the commenter of any number of baseless problems like being unable to or needing to “get laid” or worse?

If sexism weren’t an ongoing issue, then women and men alike would not be threatened by its perpetuation on the one hand and its cessation on the other. After all, the maintenance of sexism only serves to uphold masculine privilege at the expense of women (and men), and change is frightening to both sides: men may lose some privilege, some power, while women may lose a (false) sense of security in “normative” gender roles that feign their protection.

Men need to stop fearing women, stop demonizing them for standing up for themselves, and start working with women to end stereotypes that oppress both.

Im not sure if your comment was directed at me or not but i thought i would reply. I did not say that work was the worst place for sexism i said the chart is showign that our tolerance for sexism at work is far lower that it is for beer ads why because at work it is directed at us directly not an unknown person on the tv. Yes i agree that the rest will get worse because the tv is causign bad habits in our younger generations. I am sorry if i missread a comment along the way then i am sorry i did think that in andrews comment he was meaning that he thought the graph showed how high sexism was in each area.

If television is teaching bad behavior then i also believe that we have enough of a mind to 1. ignore it and 2. counter- act it. We learn more from our friends parent and reletives than we do from tv.
