  1. I lose says:

    Tha: spelling is rather ccnfusing.

  2. RankMyTyping says:

I feel the confusing chunk should be bigger AND the froto almost dying needs to eb bigger……..Hmmm, i think you need a bigger graph! :)

  3. willdog says:

I disagree with this graph. Instead of the Frodo part, it should say one of the hobbits is being a dumbass and almost gets everyone killed. Then that chunk should be bigger.

  4. Czernobog says:

How did this ever make the front page?

  5. AeC says:

Where’s the Kevin Smith love? The largest portion should clearly be, “Walking.”

  6. Yay says:

Although the joke is overused, I think the largest portion should be “Walking” – at least it would be accurate.

  7. Yay says:

    Whoops, already said…

  8. RJ says:

If you are confused by happenings in LOTR, your nerd status should be revoked. And I agree that the above icanhascheezburger graph is more accurate.

  9. John says:

I approved of this a million years ago.
    Failed – relevance?

  10. Nerd Judge says:

    Those movies are awesome.

  11. Nerd Girl says:

This is a bit late, isn’t it? XD

Anyways. I didn’t thin any of the movies were confusing.
But the majority was full of that damn hobbit getting everyone else almost killed, or almost dying. Which was EXTREMELY annoying.

  12. Chai says:

    1. I don’t believe the fights were random
    2. The movies would only be confusing if you didn’t read the books
    3. Which people did you want to die?
    4. I think “Frodo makes same dramatic face” would be more accurate, as he doesn’t come near to death all that often.

    • Daemon says:

I’m gonna answer number 2 for you, what do you think americans would rather do; read an incredibly long trilogy of books or watch 3 movies… you can already guess the answer.

      • Icelegs says:

It’s not that the books are incredibly long, it’s americans are incredibly lazy.

        • Eärossë says:

I first read the books when I was nine. And i finished the last bit of FOTR, TTT, and Rotk in a week. JUST SIT DOWN AND READ THE BOOKS PEOPLE!!!

    • catgirl says:

I only read the first half of the first book, and I still didn’t find the movies to be confusing.

    • Icelegs says:

I totally agree with you on all four.

  13. Custaro says:

Also do not forget the 18 endings à la the first movie.

  14. Cheezdude says:

Confusing needs to be waaay bigger.

  15. Danielle says:

You forgot the long walking scenes… the ones where people are apparently talking but just putting me to sleep

  16. Bing0pl@ya69 says:

You forgot walking. boy, there’s a butt load of walking.

  17. ascatal says:

okay my a LOTR fan and I must ad mit this isn’t far off , that thats the risk youi take when you try to keep Sauron’s bling bling from him lol

  18. KaBooM says:

    Those movies were worthless…

  19. poodle_face says:

How about a section marked “Peter Jackson craps on the grave of JRRT”, since the vast majority of the movies seemed to be doing that?

    • papajon says:

What? are you some kind of Troll? Wait, I made a funny there… ‘troll’… geez, if anything the movies were way way way easier to follow than the books. JRT’s style isn’t all that wonderfully flowing, IMHO. Or are you’all ticked that they left out the Tom Bombadil (sp?) character?

      • Icelegs says:

No. not just Bombadil. there’s Glorfindel, Prince Imrahil, Elladan & Elrohir, Goldberry, Gildor, Erestor, Cirdan, and Galdor missing. Probably more. And Arwen, Galadriel, Celeborn, Faramir, and Treebeard are wrong. PLUS Anduril was reforged at the wrong time, the palantir sequence was too dramatic, and Denethor’s death was wrong.

        Shall I go on?

  20. killersmerf says:

And how about Shots of the Ring? Try that as a drinking game next time you watch!

    • picgirl7 says:

i agree, the “random” fight scenes should be replaced by shots of the ring, something confusing should be the “frodo almost dying” and that piece should be walking!
      nerd rant over

  21. Neverpostedhereever says:

Oh, yeah, he sure crapped on his grave alright. Find someone who will make a better adaptation, whiner.

  22. Benny says:

People who have not actually read Tolkien and do not understand the plot should not mess with Lord of the Rings.

  23. Marconix says:

I have always thought, since its inception, that the comment boards on these incorporated LOL websites were sickening hives rife with the lowest form of stupidity known to the sentient dominant species we call our human selves.

The graph notwithstanding, this thread exemplifies and amplifies this feeling.

Wait, hold on, sorry. Since most of you found Lord of the Rings confusing, allow me to placate your spasming minds by breaking my verbose delineation down to a simple statement you’ll all surely understand:

    You’re all idiots.

  24. Charlie says:

Bah, walking should definitely be 100% of this graph. After all, that’s all it is; unless I missed something?

  25. JorickHorn says:

Somebody wasn’t paying attention to the movies.

  26. catgirl says:

Will someone please tell me what about these movies was confusing in any way? So many people are complaining about how confusing they were, but no one says what parts they didn’t understand. Were all of these people watching it in a different language, or not actually looking at the screen while they watched? How could any part of these movies be confusing?

    • LOTR 101 says:

mabye some people didnt understand wether the nazgul where the fell beasts or their riders.

In case anyone is wondering, the nazgul are the black Riders.

      • Person says:

Er. No offence, but the way you worded that was more confusing, at least to me =P. The Nazguls is just another name for the Ringwraiths, and the winged monsters they rode on after they lost their horses are just simply referred to as fell beasts.

  27. meowie says:

Damn dumb tards know nuts about LOTR. They find it confusing cuz they don’t even know why the hell they are born in this world. Pea brains.

  28. brassknight4ever says:

    READ THE BOOK…

  29. anya says:

Nah, more like walk walk battle walk walk walk skirmish walk battle walk walk.

But I would definitely include Frodo as someone I want to die after all the above-mentioned whining and ineptitude.

  30. Suzannah says:

If you have even read the books all the way through AT ALL you would realize that they are just friends. It was a time where people had different views about personal space, as well as what was considered friendly. People that are the same gender can be friends without sleeping with that person. Get a grip, people!

  31. John says:

I’d say this applies to The Hobbit, too.
Bilbo eats about twice a week and he nearly dies like a billion times.

  32. BooHISS says:

For some reason this reminds me of Harry Potter. And how through most of them I wonder (uninterested), and the characters SAY…”BUT WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO HARRY POTTAH?!”

  33. Amelia says:

Surely Legolas pointing into the distance ansd saying what he sees should take up a fairly sizeable chunk

  34. Drew says:

    You forgot walking.

  35. guitargirl says:

“Frodo being a crybaby.” would probably take up a pretty good portion too.

  36. Squishy Sox says:

… I just like the big squid monster thing … itz pwnaj XD
