  1. V says:

Haha, this was actually pretty good. XD

  2. BreAnn says:

There was always that one person who got like 12 from their friends, and while in theory, getting that many is cool, you realize that you are actually just kinda lame

  3. Willdog says:

Valentines day sucks when no one has ever liked you

  4. RJ says:

<<married the right woman. She hates V-day too.

  5. Erica says:

Haha, this is so sad, and so true. All the normal, decent people don’t get roses.

    • mamarosa says:

      well said.
I think it does more damage to the self esteem of the average people than we’ll ever know.
I wish they’d cut this crap out. Popularity is diametrically opposed to being inclusive.

I never, ever got one. And it did have an effect on me back then, 30 years ago.

      Bad practice.

  6. inusushi says:

    I always hated valentines day because I always got my hopes up, but always got let down. ;_;

  7. kitten says:

They forgot “sent by some guy’s friend as a joke on him and the girl they sent it to.” I totally got one of those.

    • Qu says:

Yeah, I got one from a “Secret Admirer”, turns out his friends paid him to get me one as a joke. V-Day sucks.

    • vina says:

one of my friends wrote one to me supposedly from a guy i liked while i was at the opposite end of the table…..idiot…………..

  8. Cairis says:

The worst ones had to be the ones that you got sent late in the day because someone felt sorry for you.. I hated getting those..

    • teh penguin says:

I prefer to not get any, that way you don’t look like an arse getting rid of them and you don’t have to return the favor.

  9. Casa says:

Oh I have SO much fun with Valentines day! Last year I passed out little cards with butterflys, the kind you’d give out in grade school, to every one at work! They seemed to get a kick out of it, everyone wore the pink and purple temp tatoos, even the office tough guy.
I’ll admit, it used to suck in school, when everyone took it so serious. If you descided to have fun and play it’s a great holiday. ^^

  10. Mark says:

Haha, good graph. :) I appreciate the realistically-proportioned pie sizes; these 99.9% vs. 0.1% ones are getting a bit much.

  11. t3hOutlaw says:

    Valentines Day makes me cry ;_;

  12. Justin says:

    You forgot “from your parents”

    • SickleYield says:

QFT. I’ve never hated Valentine’s Day because, while I am generally lacking a guy, I know I’m going to get a rose from Mom and some chocolate in a pretty box. Can’t lose with pretty chocolate. :D

  13. JayGatsby says:

…is that Comic Sans in the title of the graph? Please tell me you didn’t use Comic Sans.

  14. ._. says:

    ‘ ~’
    I BAWWWW’d.

  15. Kit says:

Anyone else notice that all the asian girls seem to get a lot of flowers and stuff? Or is that just my school?

  16. Claire says:

Valentines Day was better in elementary school when EVERYONE passed out cards and EVERYONE got cards. The teachers would always say “either give everyone a card, or don’t give any”. Then in high school Valentines Day turned into an incredibly sexist holiday where the only people who received gifts were the pretty girls with boyfriends. You’d see them walking through the halls with giant teddy bears that their boyfriends probably spent their entire paycheck on. They’ll flaunt those teddy bears for the entire day, and they never return the favor by getting their boyfriends anything (which is sexist because it’s buying into the belief that women don’t make any money). Quite honestly, I’ve never had a boyfriend, and I’ve never wanted one (but I’m not a lesbian either) so I’m not jealous or anything, but in high school Valentines Day is basically a popularity contest.

    • mamarosa says:

      You sound young, but wise.

In the big scheme of things (post high school) it doesn’t mean anything at all.
You’ll look back and think, why was I concerned about V-Day.

Go out and make something of yourself, you’ll have the last laugh on the pretty people, who peak in H.S.

Life gets better and better, trust me.

  17. George says:

My school does singing valentines, which means that it is actually a really bangin’ holiday, yo. I mean, as far as holidays celebrated by the SCA go. They interrupt classes, and most of them are ridiculous.

    • Yosh says:

My school did this, too. It was a way for the choir to make money. The teachers hated it, especially when it was a big test day. By my senior year, they had stopped it.

    • C'est Moi says:

The SCA of which I’m a member hosts en event that includes rapier and rattan fighting. Good times!

      • vina says:

so do most SCA shires….Champions of the Court of Love was a great event, especially with the rose tournament we had~_~ now THAT wasn’t a popularity contest…….

  18. Jenna says:

Yo go Glenn Coco you go.

  19. Lady says:

At my school, instead of roses, you could buy people different flavors of Crush soda. Grape was “we’re friends”, orange was “I like you”, and cherry was “I love you”. Yeah, I was known to send my self a few back then. :-P

  20. Bobdahobo says:

    Why was she crying?

  21. grilledcheeses says:

    haha SO true!!!!
i have been known to do this.
    “and none for gretchen weiners!”

  22. username!!!!!!!!! says:

hahah I did that this year
I put “To Christina, from Christina <33″

    it made me laugh hysterically

  23. i says:

i sent one to everyone in my homeroom last year so this wouldnt happen (im a nice class pres)

  24. Peace says:

I have a pretty good chance of getting one, considering it could be my birthday gift if anything (I’m not a Valentine baby, but I am pretty close)
