i admit you have a good point,but there is a scottish language…other than scots english..

scottish gaelic is essentially like the irish language(aka gaeilge..YES WE HAVE ONE TOO!!!)but with a few differences in spelling and pronounciation.kinda obvious seein as we’re all celts(apart from the picts,romans,saxons,danes,norse,normans…)

umm… I actually live in Austria. their national language is German. They speak German, and would classify themselves as German speakers. Austrian is not an actual language. Granted, the dialects can be pretty extreme, but the can speak High German (although, high German as it is taught in most schools and universities is not actually spoken anywhere, just like we do not use proper English). Of course the Finns, Danish and Norwegians have their own languages- no one was contesting that- i am not sure it is even relevant.

furthermore, Arnold is actually from a town very near to where i live, and its pretty common knowledge nowadays that he can barely speak German anymore, and the accent? yeah, hes faking it…

This shows the general stupidity of Americans. As a European, I’ll clarify it for everyone. First, Czechoslovakia hasn’t existed for 15 years, it’s now Czech Republic (who speak Czech) and Slovakia (who speak Slovakian). Second of all, to “Starbuck”, don’t be a cretin, of course Austrians would say they speak German, because they speak German. Third of all, Swiss also speak Italian.

For quite some time. Ask any Austrian – they’ll tell you they don’t speak German. Did you know the Dutch have their own language, too? And Portuguese, Spanish and Italian are not the same language. Danish is more than a pastry and those pesky Norwegians, Swedes and Finnish all have the audacity to have different languages as well. What will do with those wacky Europeans and their languages?

He’s actually a decent governor. better than Davis thats for sure. and, contrary to popular belief, his english is actually decent. I was at a conference where he was the Key-Note, and his speeches are wonderful. Even not considering he is not a native speaker, his english is very good.
as for CA going down in flames… clever, but has nothing to do with Schwarzenegger. Aside from his decision to take money from education, he’s done well. And honestly, if he were president, i’d be perfectly ok.
I think people just like to think he’s an idiot because when he first came here and started doing movies, he had really poor english. but i highly doubt anyone would say that about Jackie Chan, who also had poor english when he came to america and started doing movies.
Or maybe people are just making fun of him because he’s an actor. Well lets look at someone who was NOT an actor: Bush. and look how well he did. so it’s safe to say that being an actor or not being an actor is not a qualifier for being a decent leader. If Bush had taken some speech lessons, i bet we wouldnt have made nearly as much fun of him, because really, your delivery is half the battle! listen to Hitlers old speeches: he was evil but the way he delivers his speeches makes you almost want to join. almost.

Also, it’s a stretch to say that Austrians speak German. They speak *a* version of German. In which they swallow a lot of vowels and add grunts, beer and Wiener Schnitzel.

And yes, the plural *is* ‘Schnitzel’. Even in Austria.
