I’m kind of all of them. My friends converted me from rap to led zep ACDC maiden and sabbath. My parents got me into beatles, u2 aerosmith the stones, and the doors. Guitar hero got me into Anthrax slayer rush and a few other bands. Then I single handedly discovered bands like Manowar Megadeth Alice Cooper armored saint Savatage (80s death/prog/power/speed/rock band)

Too true! I don’t know how I got into classic rock, my mum’s more into Neil Diamond sort of stuff. My dad’s into like the earlier sixtys-fiftys music. I don’t know where it comes from, but as long as I remember I’ve been a little rocker.

Actually it might. See, the kids listening to the new music are the ones who are constantly on Facebook trying to pick on the people who listen to classic rock. Just look around the net. It’s basically impossible not to find some troll trying to start a big fight over themselves and justin Bieber. People who like classic rock are the ones that defend themselves, but only attack in their own ranks, they don’t go looking for fights as much, which means minimal internet chatting which means you don’t get enveloped in the whole text talk thing. Which means they’re more laid back and can focus more on their work, rather than trying to defend their big heroes.

Sorta… I was already into it, but then I watched Supernatural, and I found websites with the episode song lists, and I made a habit of going through each episode in order and listening to each song. Love the scene in Swan Song when Dean comes driving up with Rock of Ages playing. Greatest. Song Use. Ever.

I’m annoyed about it because of how a lot of the time I talk to my friends and they ask me why I listen to classic rock, and they say it’s for old people or retards. Their words. But other times, we’ll be playing football, and we’ll be standing in the back line and I’ll hear them singing songs like ‘Turning Japanese’, some Aerosmith, and ‘More Than a Feeling’. Stuff like that. So I’ll ask why they like the same classic rock that’s coincidentally in Guitar Hero, and they get all ‘Because that’s the only classic rock I like’. So I’ll suggest to them a few songs they might also like if they like those songs, and I play it for them. They hate it and bag me for it, then a new Guitar Hero comes out, and I hear them singing the same song I showed them! You’re really a poser if you only like music if it’s on a game or show you like. It’s alright, if you just first heard it on Guitar Hero and then liked it. But those kids that have heard it and hate it, but then hear it on their favourite show or on their favourite video game, and the instantly change their minds. Which makes them posers.

I’ve noticed that with plenty of songs on Guitar Hero. Like My Name is Jonas by Weezer is a LOT harder on Guitar Hero than on a real guitar.

And I’m proud. I’m 13, and I am one of the few in the sliver of green. Rock on!

My dad used to listen to Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Rush, etc, in the car and would quiz me on the song names or band names , And then I started finding other classic rock and hard rocks bands, and here I am

i think it’s awsome you can enjoy these really songs that will last and last for ever. New music is very good to. I hope my son enjoys classic rock with me something to have in common and enjoy. I hate country never gonna like it.
