FIRST !
why do you set your sights on being first all of the time????
is that your life goal???
when you FAIL at this one time what are you going to do
firstcat????
Just Falcon Punch him for god’s sake
win.
I’d prefer a rising knee to the face for that one.
FAU’CAH PAUNCH!!!!!!eleven!!1!!!
Congratulations, man!
Get a life
are you really that lame that you go around making fun of people who are happy about something? if so, you’re the one who needs a life.
A little inside baseball.
Would also have been more effective as a bar graph.
Isn’t a Falcon Punch a form of violence?
No.
A Falcon Punch is:
A solution for abortion
Problem Solver
Last-boss beater
Galxy-blower-upper
A Best Friend Revenge Tactic
win
yes the falcon punch IS a form of violence, the last time i checked the character “falcon” in super smash brothers uses it
I believe the character is named Captain Falcon
Saying Falcon Punch is ‘a form of violence’ is like saying Bach is ‘just a load of noise’, technically true, but you’ve missed the sheer majesty of it.
falcon punched the argument – win!
^^^ Totally.
This is terrible. Line graphs are meant to show temporal resolution (change over time). As such, the x axis ought to be time based measurements and the y axis is supposed to be a measured quantity. Moreover, the space in between points is supposed to hold significance as well.
What does the area between violence and dr. phil represent? Oh yea, the poster’s stupidity.
I thought it was deliberately chosen in order to look like a check mark as a strange form of meta-humor. You know, like he’s checking off the problem as “Solved by Falcon Punch.”
Maybe he’s implying that Dr. Phil is violent… Or something? And that he might use Falcon Punches on occasion?
No, this is the same idiot who submitted the last graph, so he just doesn’t get it.
Oh? Is that the only time a graph is used? To show change over time? Or is that because you took an entry level physics class and that’s all you’ve been exposed to? Or wait, calculus? Try taking upper level math and physics where your only measurement isn’t the area under a curve.
Graphs are meant to show a relationship of any sort. Whether that relationship is a derivative of something, ie. change, vs. time, or it’s some other relationship. Hell, you could make a graph of # of turtles vs. lawn area, and that isn’t a change vs. period of time at all.
So, or “as such”, as know-it-all d-bags like you say, the x-axis doesn’t _have_ to be change. And as for your “measured quantity” on the y-axis, THERE IS ONE! Success rate percentage was measured, FYI.
Get smart, idiot.
Reading comprehension is not a strong suit of yours, is it?
I stated that LINE GRAPHS are time-based.
let me re-iterate this: LINE GRAPHS ARE TIME BASED.
Now that I’ve got your attention, this line graph is not time based. Moreover, all of the counter-graphs you posited are all examples that are aptly shown in bar graphs (aka, not a line graph).
It’s not that a line graph needs to be time-based, but it ought to depict some sort of value that is a continuous function of some continuous range of values. This graph doesn’t do that, unless we come up with some clever interpretation of the X-axis.
E.g., We might interpret that every point between adjacent labeled points on the X-axis is a linear combination of those two points (and that labeled points are simply that solution alone) This could then show that, say, a 50/50 mix of Dr. Phil and a Falcon Punch is successful about 37.5% of the time (and also that if Dr. Phil used just a little bit of Falcon Punch, he wouldn’t cause any problems). It’s not a great interpretation though, since it doesn’t scale well past two labeled points (unless Dr. Phil really is just a 50/50 mix of Violence and Falcon Punch).
that’s not correct. it could be any sort of progression or spectrum along that axis
Wow guys, I’m sure the creator of this graph had all of this on his mind when he made this.
OR
maybe he just made it as a joke. Like it’s supposed to be.
Line graphs don’t have to be time based! I know what you’re saying, and it’s wrong. Line graphs are just a comparison of two things. If I wanted to make a graph of house size vs. how much it costs, I could do that. Physics measures temperature vs. energy, enthalpy vs. pressure. Are you about to tell those people that the scientists are wrong? Yes, this graph kinda sucks, it’s a little hard to read, a bar graph probably would have worked better, but the graph is in no way wrong. Get your head outta your ass.
Congratulations! You’re an over analytical loser! Here’s your prize! *Falcon Punches*
These graphs are getting more and more terrible all the time. Are there even any song charts made anymore?
probably but lame-os have probably voted them down in favor of dumb cat-related graphs.

You have to know musicals to get it, but yes.
Yes:

Some one needs to make a graph about the percentage of failed graphs on Graphjam, one that doesn’t fail…
Here we are:
http://mine.icanhascheezburger.com/view.aspx?ciid=3016389
Nice. This is a good example of a non-fail line graph that’s also non-time based.
Win!
Actually the axes should be flipped in that one, unless humor is dependent on the likelihood of posting and not the other way around.
Fail, Falcon punch causes more problems,
Captain Falcon Sucks
GraphJam is SERIOUS BUSINESS
lulz !
***See my post on previous Graph…
WTF??? Can someone please create a graph that is both functional and sensible?
….and funny! Where’s the funny?!
he doesnt like fun? maybe he gets off to math or science or something.
Epic flippin’ win.
This graph owns
You forgot to complete the sentence.
“This graph owns the distinction of being the worst graph to ever make it to the front page of Graph Jam!”
win
Somebody ought to make a line graph showing the likelihood of a graphjam poster failing to understand the proper use of a line graph.
So then Falcon Punch is not a tasty beverage made from the squeezings of some sort of small raptor…*makes note & empties pitcher*
… where did you squeeze the raptor?
Do I want to know?
There’s a very important omission that nobody’s mentioning here…. Winston Wolf, he solves problems.
Pulp Fiction = win
Yep, Falcon Punch will certainly fix all of earths problems.
Click my name for a video of proof!
win, nice video
You fail for not knowing what a falcon punch is.
I’m with Dave.
WTF is a Falcon Punch? Surely the feathers would get wet and soggy?
It’s this…. FALCON PAWWWWWWNCH!!!!!!
-.-
Falcon Punch ⊆ Violence
Oh, and yes… Jay… you totally don’t seem to get how line graphs work.
Two graphs, now, that should’ve been bar graphs since they otherwise show multiple, wildly divergent y values for each set x value… an explanation which is awkward and a little inccorect, and necessarily so because the graph is so wrong it’s hard to explain :p
… that might be funny if it was a graph about not paying attention in pre-algebra class or something
you know whats even better than the falcon punch, the SACK TAP!
FALCON PUUUUUUUUNCH
This would have better worked as a bar graph.
A line graph? Srsly?
This is to kakomu:
A line graph doesn’t have to be time based!
http://www2.heidelberg.edu/depts/chm/alexander.pdf
There’s a graph that is energy vs. temperature. Graphs can be energy vs. pressure too. Are you gonna say those people are wrong? A line graph is simply a comparison, so I could make a graph that compares how long a road trip was against how much gas was used. Yes, a bar graph might work better, but a line graph works just fine. The graph does suck, is hard to read, but it’s funny and no it isn’t wrong. Get your head outta your ass.
omg, that was rlyrlyrlyrly halarious, i dunno why there are so many bad reviews, i cracked up,
lol
Charlie Murphy!!!
Falcon Punch doesn’t count as violence! XD
FALCOWN
PAUNNCHHH!!!!!
So…any form of violence other than a Falcon Punch or a Norris Roundhouse would fall under “Causes more problems”?
FALCONNN PUNCHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Falcon PUNCH!!!
ya gotta do it right people. i’ve been Falcon PUNCH!!!ing for a long time
and check out this site:
http://falconpunch.org/
From what I can gather from the internet is used to end the untimely pregnancy, or nothing more then a a sucker punch.
Tell you what you better make the punch count or you are in a world of hurt.
A) the graph is shaped like a checkmark (tee hee!)
B) doesn’t FALCON PUNCH fall under the category of violence?????//????
