Wow. This is too true.
Really, I couldn’t say.
(I don’t have a “nametag” job.)
It is true. Retail stores place a waaaaay disproportionate level of importance on the damn name tag. You wouldn’t believe how bent out of shape retail managers get about this.
And the funny thing is that the customers largely don’t care about name tags (as long as the employee is otherwise identifiable as an employee that can help them.)

Unless their troublemakers who want to know whom they can report to the manager for not meeting their unreasonable demands.

I’ve met too many of those people. Luckily, my managers are good people and know what’s reasonable. I’ve never been in trouble before even though I’ve been reported a few times. XD
Also, a lot of people where I work forget their name tags. The managers usually don’t care.

Yeah, my job seems to care more about dress code than quality of service. So I hide their mouseballs.
The fact that they have mouseballs says loads about the company…either from a technical standpoint or a sanitary one.

I’d rather something so petty so I could get compensation.
The only nametag-related firing I might get is if I get yelled at too much for wearing it on my hat.
So I rebelled and stopped wearing it entirely.

Yeah, the way around that is by working at Princess Auto in Canada. Murder is acceptable, I’m pretty sure. Anything goes. SOOO hard to get fired…

That is the first thing that popped into my head when reading this graph. damn insidious “brand”
A former boss of mine worked at Macy’s and he told me that there if you didn’t have your name tag, you had to pay for another one (50 cents or whatever), and if you didn’t have it a second time, you got fired.
And he said this with some amount of pride, like it was a good thing.
Working at Costco, I find if I’m on the floor sometimes I have to take my tag OFF just to be able to get any work done!
You forgot “didn’t put the appropriate cover on your TPS reports”
You use one of those little plastic covers with the slidy thing. Calvin says that if you use one of those it doesn’t matter what the report says as long as it looks good. LOL. Love Calvin and Hobbs!
