This makes for a cute visual, but it is wholly inaccurate.
The ring and pinky fingers are utterly useless in traffic, but the other three all have well established uses.
I have never seen a person give a thumbs up to someone else in traffic…

No, but I sort of need them to hold on to the steering wheel. That seems slightly more important then informing other driver what you think of their driving skills/mothers.
