i LOVE this band!!! they’re so ridiculously clever, i can’t stand it! it and i actually like the fact that a lot of people hate them. it’s kind of upsetting when you first think about it, but then you have to remember, wouldn’t it suck to hear them all the time and see everyone talking about how much they “love” the new TMBG album or whatever? i would rather everyone in the world but me hate them than lots of people conforming and saying they like Them when they really don’t. but maybe i’m just crazy

In reality, yes. On the Internet, if you don’t like what someone else likes (or like what they don’t), you are threatening to them and they must attack you to varying degrees.
Just try mentioning that you don’t like Radiohead, for instance, and they’ll go after you, your entire family, and your pets.

I know, I’m gonna get killed for this, but I like They Might Be Giants. I actually think they’re a pretty clever band, and they slip some nice jokes into some of their songs. I’ve certainly heard a lot worse. Maybe I just have poor taste, but I think you could get MUCH dumber than They Might Be Giants.
