arent you supposed to read independent then dependent axis? …..so “the more things stay the same, the more they change”. proverb X axis inversion = fail.
it’s a Tower of Power line from the song Diggin’ On James Brown.
The full verse is as follows:
You know the more things change
The more they stay the same
It may be a different age
But I’m on the same page
And one thing that I’ve found
I’ll still be diggin’ on James Brown
So I thought, on a scale from “less” to “more”, what’s inbetween? I would say “the same”. So if the amount of things staying the same is the same, it could stay the same more.
So the more things stay the same, the more the sameness changes.
Does nobody listen to Rush? This is part of the song Circumstances! “Plus a change, plus c’est la meme chose, the more that things change, the more they stay the same”
lame sauce
I was just looking around the office and thinking exactly that.
man at first I thought this was a self-explanitory graph- the more things change, showing that, well… they change more… I was laughing…
But the ‘stay the same’ caught my eye at the last minute, and I was sad.
Plus what’s with the less and more labels? Everyone knows how a graph works like that.
I don’t get it. o_o”
“The more things seem to change, the more they stay the same”
Problem is, the graph says “the more things change, the more things change”.
Good idea, not so much on the execution…
People who don’t know how to read graphs should be executed.

Lazy and not funny!!!!!
I agree, It would look better as an x-y scatter plot going through zero and without unnecessary labelling.
Meh.
Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!
There’s nothing better than taking a 17th century French proverb and visualizing its metrics. Very well done!
‘plus ca change, plus c’est la meme chose’
Rush fans ANYWHERE???
Right here! I’m feeling that quote
I KNOW RIGHT!?
Hell yeah!
Rush on!
It was from Circumstances, I think.
Reporting.
Also, this graph is ridiculous. How do you know that the relationship isn’t exponential?
You need to switch your dependent and independent variables because as is, it doesn’t make any sense.
hmmm… your comment makes sense, but does that also work for bar graphs that are turned on their side?

I prefer Spinal Tap’s version:
“THe more it stays the same, the less it changes!”
..I didn’t get it xD O_O”

I love Tower Of Power
Laughed at by time, Tricked by circumstances
Plus ça change, plus c’est la meme chose,
The more that things change, the more they stay the same
-Rush “Circumstances” 1979 Album: Hemispheres
Rush is my favorite band
huh, i dont get it and im not even blond
This graph is very unfunny 1/5 graphs
