That is GOSPEL. Every single time I see a Prius, I think “that’s being driven by a douchebag,” and the douchebag goes along and proves my point by driving like an a-hole. Never fails.
If you think that a large number of people around you are douchebags, you really should consider that maybe they’re normal, and you’re the douchebag.

This is definitely true for Long Island people as well. Its my favorite when you are driving behind one and they are throwing stuff out the window.

Who cares how trendy they are if it is eventually helping the environment? I’d much prefer people were being trendy in a way that helped things than buying a new 300 pair of heels every season.

So they occasionally go 80 mph. At least when they sitting on traffic (which is going to be 80% of their life) the green parts kick in.

I’ll stick to my scooter/ bike/ walk/ car sharing, thank you. I dont want to be caught in a smug storm. Also if you have ever been to sudbury in your life it would make you think twice about battery powered anything.

The problem with this graph is, “caring for the enviornment” is trendy. Not so much really caring for the environment, but “I care for the environment.”

Well, considering Los Angeles has a higher-than-average concentration of trendy douchebags, I think your survey is just a wee bit skewed.
For every hybrid car I see, I’m gonna let my car idle in the driveway for 20 minutes. For every reusable shopping bag I see, I’m gonna ask them to double-bag my groceries. And for every public recycle bin I see, I’m gonna dump the contents into the nearest trash can.
I could try writing something witty. Instead, I think I’ll just call you an arsehole.
My ’98 Corolla averages 33 mpg and cost me 3k so saving money WIN!
and though it may not be the best on emissions… you could say I recycle.
And smug…. there is absolutely NO smug output on my car… more like people may ask if I live with my mum output.

Up north in the silicon valley, most of the Prius owners have them because they’re cool gadgets. That, and they like the fact that they’re very quiet. Better for listening to your iPod.
