From the annals of the excruciatingly correct, there is no period after Dr in Dr Pepper. There was at one point, but they dropped it in the 1950s
There was a Mitch Hedberg joke that was almost exactly like this:
“Mr. Pibb is a poor imitation of Dr. Pepper. Dude didn’t even get his degree!”

I beg to differ. You are correct in that they don’t taste anywhere close to the same. However, while Dr Pepper does taste good, Mr. Pibb doesn’t taste that bad either.

Dublin Dr Pepper is better. Real cane sugar instead of that cheap high fructose corn stuff. You can taste the difference.

Ph.D is a soft drink, too. It’s far more popular in Sweden and the southern part of Thailand, but it stands for Physics Drank, and their advertisement motto was ‘So good it will knock your taste buds into orbit.’
Mmm, I dunno, I love the taste of that Ph.D. Goes down smoooooth.
