  1. t says:

hmm me likey but not that much…

  2. Mike says:

Only the actual saying is “The proof of the pudding is in the eating,” which makes far more sense. Sorry, buds, look it up.

  3. FatEgg says:

The Proof is not in the Pudding. The Proof OF the Pudding is in the Eating.

  4. Karyudo says:

Mike and FatEgg are right: It’s “The proof of the pudding is in the eating,” where “proof” is more like “test” — a meaning that lives on in “proving ground.”

Also, I would expect at least *some* proof to be found on blackboards.

And possibly, in the case of Jack Daniels, Captain Morgan and friends, for the proof to be well above 100.

  5. dijital says:

The proof of the d-bag is in the semantics.

  6. Joseph says:

I knew it! Wall-to-wall blackboards, and I’m still not seeing any proof!

  7. Stephen says:

    Where is the pudding?

I thought there would be pudding?

  8. LoonieBin says:

You guys are right about the saying not making sense and all, but that IS how it goes. Thus, while also making no sense, the graph IS true to the (albeit mangled) saying.

    • Black Regalia says:

Actually, that really isn’t how it goes.

The saying is “The proof of the pudding is in the tasting” or sometimes “The proof of the pudding is in the eating” — in other words, it might look very nice, but you can’t evaluate it until you’ve tasted it. The expression is used whenever something appears to be nice on the surface, but hasn’t been fully tested or evaluated yet.

Americans have mangled the saying into “The proof is in the pudding”, which makes no sense and is not actually an expression.

  9. t says:

holy crap, there wasnt someone that tried to say first, second, or third.. thank god for that….

  10. secondfiddle says:

    second. again.

  11. Guess Again says:

You guys have ALL missed the point.
    You’re supposed to say “Mmmmmmmmm….pudding.”
how about comparing some red-eye and moonshine with some of that cr*ptin’ morgan?

  12. Derp. says:

I’ve heard it said that “The proof is in the pudding.”

    And it is!

  13. Christian says:

Hmm….should that be a pie graph?

  14. Observist says:

“…and as they neared the end of the tunnel, a light was to be seen. But still no pudding.”
