Cris De Foro, wow, you certainly aren’t like the ozzies I know, nor do you live up to the main stereotype of Australians, laid back with a great sense of humor. Also, as a Californian, may I say you are so out of touch you must be either old or have never been to the US/California. I think you’ll find that, post 9/11 at least, the US is a much difference place. You would do well to use your ill-educated sweeping generalizations elsewhere.

Having been to Sydney, I can say that it is one of the most wonderful cities in the world, rather like a very large San Francisco (which, by the way, is in California!).

As some one from Australia, thats the one in the to the south of China, I find it this map and your comments funny on many distinct levels. Firstly, you forgot that the world sees you as just arrogant, stupid, and reckless no matter were you come from. Secondary, that coming from a country larger than the continental US were 1/3 of the country in one state is hard to envision you place so much importance on the little states you people live in. Thirdly, in coming form a country were the entire world seems to think we all talk like the croc hunter, live within sight of a kangaroo, and drink Fosters beer you got know nothing about living down stereotypes. That’s a little mean . . . a better half of the state is also very liberal and “hippy.” Because of that, most of us wouldn’t be caught dead with a Hummer.
I think you’re confusing southern California with the rest of us.
And, BTW, most of the people I know (including me) aren’t @$$holes and and, as you can see from my retort, most of us are not brain-dead, either.
Now, if you’re talking about our driving, then we can be @$$holes. But that’s beside the point.

I’m from texas, and while there’s maybe four towns in texas that fit the generalization everyone has about Texas, it’s definitely not like this. We have big cities, cars, not everyone drives a pick up and loves country music.
I went to new york on a school trip, and another group from a school in minnesota and they asked stuff like ‘do you ride horses to school’ and ‘do you have any roads’ and were completely serious. it was insulting…

I am Californian and I must say some of that is ture and mainly way off. When I think New York I think Gossip Girl, when I think Canada I think that one country above the needle thing or seatlle or something and spot on with Texas.
And C.A is not only blonds, sunshine, and famous people. The coast is like the desert, but the rest (minus desert) is all rainy and cold and dreary. And 1/10 people are natural blonds.

I’m from Louisiana, now living near Houston, Texas. When I first moved here people assumed I had a pet alligator and rode a boat from my house on the swamp to my one-room school. I guess people don’t realize that Louisiana isn’t ALL swamp. People thought I was a complete idiot. They would ask me if I knew what the simplest things were: a movie theater, a car, a period (not the kind at the end of a sentence. The girl kind). I couldn’t believe how rude these people were, it was insulting.

Over the last few years I have attended or visited some of the finest universities in California, full of students that got way better GPAs and SAT scores than any of you did, and maybe a quarter of the native Californians at these fine institutions could put all 50 states on a blank map. One HS validictorian and Stanford graduate recently asked me, “You mean there’s a West Virginia too?”

Lolz @ the East Coast including Chicago. This is a funny graph, but I’ve lived in almost all of the regions of the US (including California), and IMHO, I think that most Californians are brain-dead, plasticated, latte-drinkin’, Hummer-drivin’, pseudo-vegan assholes. Sorry, it’s beautiful and all, especially the redwood forests, but I can’t wait for it to fall off into the ocean.
