YES! FAVORITE SONG EVER!
Shouldn’t the first bar’s value be 1000? He walked 500, then 500 more, to be the man who walked 1000 miles, etc.
No, it’s right. Because he starts out at 500 miles and then he has to walk 500 more to finish what he started.
But how can he walk 500 miles to be the man who walked 1000 miles? He walked 500 miles then 500 more to be the man who walked 1000 miles. Where does the “finish what I started” bit come from? Is that the same song?
I agree with Taylor – you can only be the man who walked a 1000 miles if you actually walk a 1000 miles. He says he’d walk 500 miles then 500 more. But they’re ugly buggers it’s probably best if you just move house…
The chorus actually states “I would walk 500 miles, and I would walk 500 more. Just to be the man that walked a thousand miles to fall down at your door”
So he claims he is willing to do nearly 2 dozen marathons at once to be with a chick. Desperate, or the ultimate act of love? You decide…
Well, he’s walking, so he’s not in too much of a hurry. If he was running it would be desperate.
The guy singing looks like my sister’s husband. It’s uncanny. I had this song in my head all day at their wedding. Unfortunately, they wouldn’t play it for their wedding waltz.
